Cavalieri Top Qualifier in 2WD Buggy

Team Associated have taken the honour of being the first manufacturer to TQ a Euro Offroad Series race after Ryan Cavalieri produced a clean sweep of fastest runs on Day 2 of the Pilot event in Tomelilla, Sweden.  The American outpaced yesterday’s Q1 top qualifier Dustin Evans in all four of today’s rounds of heats with European Champion Lee Martin third on each occasion and this is how they will line up for tomorrow’s A-Main.

Americans dominate first ever EOS qualifier

The Euro Offroad Series’ first ever round of qualifying has been dominated by American drivers with Team Associated’s Ryan Cavalieri topping 4WD in both buggy & Short Course truck while Team Losi Racing’s Dustin Evans reigned over 2WD.

Durango dominate Russian Indoor Nationals

The Russian National Indoor Championship race took place last weekend in Crocus Expo, Moscow.  The indoor carpet track drew more that 150 entries spread over the various classes.  Team Durango’s Denis Zuykov dominated the 4WD Buggy Modified class with his DEX410 Spec 2010 taking the TQ and win.  Second place in 4WD modified was Dmitry Malyshko, who qualified 3rd position for the final. In 4WD stock the class was dominated by Markin Michael with his new DEX410R, while in the new Expert SC-10 4WD class it was won by Dmitry Malyshko with the new DESC410R, who having started from second place won all finals.

Euro Offroad Series practice update

Practice continues in Sweden at the first ever Euro Offroad Series race with drivers having completed three five minute runs on the indoor clay Tomelilla track.  With a racing groove starting to appear drivers have two final opportunities to get their cars dialed-in ahead of the first round of qualifying.  While times from the opening three practice don’t count for anything, each driver’s three fastest consecutive laps from P4 or P5 will count towards reseeding the heats.

World-class driver Travis Amezcua has chosen to re-sign with Reedy and LRP for the remainder of 2011. Already a multiple race winner with Reedy/LRP power, Travis will continue as not only a factory team driver but remain instrumental in the testing and development of new products. KO Propo America Mini-Z Grand Prix III - Announcement

KO Propo America have announced that the Mini-Z Grand Prix III will be held on May 7, hosted by Inside Line Racing in Cupertino, CA. The location of the event will be the Vallco Mall in Cupertino, California. The past two years has drawn about 100 drivers from across the US and this year they expect the same. Simões & Miguel wins Portuguese TC season opener

Round 1 of the Portuguese Electric touring car nationals took place last weekend and the stock class was dominated by Jorge Simões with his Associated TC6. Topping the time sheets in 2 heats secured the TQ spot followed closely by Bruno Castela with a Hot Bodies TCX. Going into the mains the domination continued as Jorge won the first 2 A mains to secure 1st overall, with Bruno holding second place with a victory on the 3rd A main, Mário Coelho got his hands on 3rd spot.

KBRL Nitro Series champions crowned

KBRL Nitro Series champions crowned

The KBRL nitro series made its final stop at the Fear Farm rc facility in Glendale AZ. Racers from all over the state did battle through 8 championship rounds of racing at various tracks around the state.  Team Losi Racing vehicles stood atop all classes available including expert buggy, intermediate buggy, Intermediate Truggy and electric buggy. In the Intermediate Buggy class it was Brandon Akiyama who shut down the class with a hot streak of 4 straight wins in the last 4 races to secure the overall win. Brandon picks the 8 2.0 buggy as his race weapon of choice along with Dennis Munteen who finished 2nd with his 2.0 as well.
