2010 Much-More UK GP Series - Announcement

Much-More Racing UK are pleased to announce their 2010 GP race will take in 3 venues this year, covering Scotland, Northern Ireland and England. The first round of the series will be held on 28-30 May at the superb Stonehaven track near Aberdeen. Following last year’s success in Northern Ireland, round 2 is again at the Ballymoney circuit on 9-11 July. The final round, on 13-15 August will be at Carlisle making the choice of English venue easily accessible to racers attending the first two rounds. The GP meetings have brought together racers from all around the world and delivered some of the closest racing ever seen in the UK. The 2010 series will be the best yet. Andy Moore, Chris Grainger, Elliott Harper and Olly Jefferies have all taken the GP title in previous years. With the best 3 out of 3 rounds to determine the Series Champion in 2010, competition will be fierce to determine the winner of the Much-More UK Cup. We have been contact by the organisers of the Union Square Grand Prix, an exciting high profile event that takes place in the atrium of the new Union Square shopping complex in Aberdeen over the weekend of 17th/18th April. The event offers a unique promotional opportunity to race in front of a large public audience and entry will be open to 1:12 and 1:10 touring car. Concessions for drivers are being finalised along with an ever growing list of sponsors, expect details to be updated on the touring web site touring car web site as they confirmed. Hupo Honigl doubles up at Snowbirds

At the 2010 Snowbird Nationals in Orlando, Florida, Hupo Hönigl continued his hot streak that started in Vegas in September 09. Hupo was Top Qualifier in both the 1:12th 10.5 class and the 1:10th WGT class with his CRC rides. In the hotly contested World GT class, Hupo took his CRC Gen-X 10 right off the track from his win in Cleveland and continued his victorious ways in Orlando. Hupo won every round of qualifying and the main for a dominant victory. Joining Hupo on the podium was 2nd place qualifier Brian Wynn. Brian took his Advanced powered Gen-X 10 to the front setting quick times all weekend. In 1:12th 10.5, Hupo used his CRC Gen-XL 1/12th car complete with CRC Pro Cut tires to cut up the competition again. Joining Hupo on the podium was Dutch driver Jilles Groskamp.

Simon Moss wins on Schumacher Cougar SV debut

Schumacher are reporting that the Cougar SV made its much anticipated race debut this weekend at the BRCA British Open, which has replaced the Indoor Nationals formally run during the winter season. Against a strong entry of most of the UK’s top electric off road drivers the race could not have gone better for the Schumacher team. The result was a convincing victory in the 2WD class, Simon Moss won all 5 of his races in the Reedy style event to score a maximum perfect score. Simon also recorded the fastest 5 minute run by a huge margin of 5 seconds and fastest single lap with his Speed Passion powered car.

Rheinard is Czech ETS Champion

Viktor Wilck has won the third leg of the A-Main at the Euro Touring Series in the Czech Republic but the final result remains the same as he takes second overall behind Tamiya Racing Factory team-mate Marc Rheinard with Team Associated’s Juho Levanen completing the podium.

Rheinard 'Czechs' out in Leg 2 to win ETS Rd3

Marc Rheinard is the winner of the third round of the Xenon Racing backed Euro Touring Series, the current World Champion backing up his A-Main Leg 1 win by cruising to a 2 second winning margin over his Tamiya team-mate Viktor Wilck. The result means Rheinard leaves the Czech Republic with a 2 point advantage over the Swede who came to Hrotovice as the championship leader.

Rheinard on pole for Czech final

Marc Rheinard will start tomorrow’s A-Main on pole position after he TQ’d the final qualifier for the third Round of the ETS here in the Czech Republic.  The Tamiya Racing Factory driver put in the fastest 5 minute run of the weekend just missing out on breaking into the 17 laps with a time of 5:00.663.  The German claims his first Top Qualifier honours of the 2009/10 Series ahead of team-mate Viktor Wilck who set the fourth fastest time for the round. In Pro stock it was Daniel Wohlgemuth who claimed his 4th TQ run of the day to take pole position for tomorrow’s finals to start ahead of Alexander Stocker who couldn’t improve in his final run.

Levanen tops Q4 for Associated in Czech Republic

Tamiya’s reign at the top of the time sheets here in Hrotovice has been ended with Associated’s Juho Levanen setting the pace in the penultimate round of qualifying for the third round of the Euro Touring Series. The Finn posted a time of 16 laps in 5:04.308 to TQ the round from Andy Moore with Martin Hudy third. Levanen said his TC5 is now working really well and apart from a roll right in front of the drivers’ rostrum he was happy with the run. The result means that he is now in contention along with Rheinard and Q2 winner Viktor Wilck for pole position in tomorrow’s triple A-Mains.
