Paul Lemieux switch to Thunder Power RC confirmed

Paul Lemieux confirms switch to Thunder Power RC

Having raced for his new sponsors at the KO Grand Prix last weekend, Thunder Power RC have confirmed the signing of Paul Lemieux to their team, bringing with him 13 years of RC racing experience. Among his many career highlights Paul currently holds seven on-road championship titles in electric touring car, electric modified touring car, nitro sedan and many other classes. His impressive career accomplishments include multi-time Snowbirds, Cleveland Indoor, US Touring Car, IIC Modified Touring Car and ROAR National Championship titles, along with multi-time IFMAR Worlds A-Finalist rankings. Paul brings speed, passion and the ability to not only represent Thunder Power RC by using, supporting and promoting products at races world-wide, but will also assist in the development and testing of many new TPRC products.

I joined Team Thunder Power RC after seeing how they and their products have performed in RC racing over the past year. Knowing TPRC’s history and stronghold in the RC aircraft and helicopter LiPo battery and charger markets, I know they are going to continue to bring new technology, knowledge and experience to the car market. With my experience and passion for racing and joining Team TPRC, I will have the ability to test and race using the latest in LiPo battery and charger technology. I am excited about the future of TPRC and am proud to represent them at all major US and International electric/LiPo events.

Speed Passion sign UK National Champion Ellis Stafford

Speed Passion sign UK National Champion Ellis Stafford

Speed Passion have announced the signing of another top UK off road racer, current 2wd National Champion Ellis Stafford. Ellis will use the company’s Competition 3.0 motors together with their GT2.0 Pro speedo to defend his title next year and had the following to say about the deal:

With the many good comments I heard from other Speed Passion users I knew I had to try out the equipment to see if it is as good as people had said..and it certainly is!! The power is delivered incredibly smoothly and the speedo is easy to set up but with enough parameters for anyone. The plugs on the motor are a really nice touch as well and make last minute motor changes no problem at all. They are also very keen to progress more and with a very strong team I look forward to defending my 2wd British title and hopefully adding a few others next year with Speed Passion whilst working on future products.

Andy Moore claims BRCA 1/12th Rd3 win

Tamworth in the Midlands was the venue for round three of this year’s BRCA 1:12 national series. This event had a very festive feel to it with drivers racing Pro Stock and modified over a busy weekend which also included the now famous 1:12 Christmas party. Sunday’s modified saw Olly Jefferies continue his good qualifying form from Newbury once again taking TQ for Associated. Hot Bodies star Andy Moore had looked sharp all weekend and it was he that would go on to take the eventual win with Andy Griffiths with his V-Dezign second. After dropping back a little Olly recovered to overhaul new CRC signing Elliott Harper to take third at the final buzzer.

Maifield & Mitch win at JConcepts Clash

Maifield & Mitch win at JConcepts Clash

The 3rd annual JConcepts Clash kicked off at Lake Park in Lutz, Florida last weekend and JConcepts report that the competition was hot and heavy as drivers from all over came to the hottest off-road event in Florida. The event started off very slowly with consistent rain on Thursday, severely limiting the practice on the quick and technical track layout. As Friday came, the rains and weather disappeared but the conditions were still rather damp and the usually high bite surface was now a slick groove. Friday morning, drivers were eager to practice and attacked the track trying to find the hottest driving lines and setups.
