Joe Glover takes 2007 Ottawa TC Champs

2007 Ottawa TC Champs

Xray have a report on their site about the 2007 Ottawa TC Championships run by the RC Ottawa club at their great indoor facility. Joe Glover managed to TQ both the 19T and modified classes and went into the finals confident of winning both classes, but a collision in the 19T final meant he went a lap down, but was able to fight his way back to 4th at the end with Louis Vanderway taking the win ahead of Leonard Shinzano and Gordie Tam. In the modified class it was much easier for Glover and he won easily, leading home an Xray 1-2-3 finish with Leonard Shinzano and Gordie Tam finishing in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Andy Moore is 1/12th European Champion

Reigning World and European touring car champion, Andy Moore (new pictures to follow), has clinched the 2007 EFRA European 1/12th scale championships that were held this weekend in Sweden. The British driver, who was starting from pole position, won the first 2 rounds of Finals, despite a stop go penalty for jumping the start in the 2nd final which saw him go nearly a lap down, to ensure that he had the title wrapped up before the 3rd round of finals which he decided to sit out. German driver Marc Fisher, finished in 2nd place with a fine run taking the win in the 3rd final and a 2nd place to claim the runner up spot ahead of Swedish driver Alexander Hagberg who claimed a 2nd and a 3rd. Andy Moore heads up Euro 1/12th practice

Euro 1/12th practice

Current 1/10th Touring car World Champion Andy Moore (not pictured above) is setting the pace after Fridays practice at the 1/12th European Championships held in Sweden. The British driver was 4 seconds clear of second place Simo Ahoniemi from Finland with German driver Markus Mobers in 3rd, a further 4 seconds back. Its, of course, only early stages and the drivers are still trying to find their best setup to go into qualifying, which starts tomorrow, so todays times are just a very rough estimation of who is quick. Finish gas racing specialist Teemu Saarinen was 4th fastest after todays practice sessions with dominant British champion Andy Griffiths lying in 5th.

2007 EFRA European 1/12th scale Championships, Sweden

European 1/12th scale Championships

For those who dont know, this years EFRA 1/12th scale Euros, being held in Eskilstuna Sweden, will start tomorrow (Friday) with group practice followed by 6 rounds of qualifications and the main finals on Sunday. Back in the start of December we reported on the warm up race, in which this years Snowbirds Mod 1/12th winner Marc Fisher reigned supreme, taking the win for Corally driving his SP12X. This win and his current form sees Fischer as one of the favourites for this years European title but also at the event are a number of other extremely quick drivers like TCWC Andy Moore, Simo Ahoniemi, Yli Vesa, Teemu Saarinen and Hubert Hönigl amongst others, so expect some close action. Below, are some useful links to some event resources and if you know any more that should be added to the list drop us a message.
