Round 1 of the Xray Racing Series Greece was held at the Fanatix Racing Track near Athens recently. In Touring Modified class Nikolakopoulos took the pole position and won all final legs with 2017 XRS champion, Diamadis, coming in 2nd after some nice battles with 3rd placed Kidis.

The 2018 Malaysian Electric National League was held recently and it was Serpent driver Mizan with the TQ and win in the 1/10th 4WD Buggy class. SWorkz’s Hakeem came in 2nd from Yokomo driver Danny K who rounded out the podium in 3rd.

Hobbywing have added another high-class on-road driver to their constantly growing super star team in the form of Germany’s Freddy Südhoff. Freddy will debut his new power combo, the XeRun XR10 Pro speed controller and the all-new XeRun V10 G3 motor, at this weekends second round of the ETS in Germany and he has the following to say:

Carisma Racing have announced the signing of former 2-time EFRA European Champion, Ellis Stafford to their growing team. The multiple UK national champion will not only lead the charge on track running both 2WD and 4WD 1/10th buggies, he will also be instrumental in progressing the designs, with real world testing, racing data and honest feedback. With the 4XS attending its first Worlds in 2017, growing in popularity with racers globally, and the new 2XS in its final stages of development, Ellis will be an invaluable asset to the team’s global dynamic, and each cars ongoing development. When asked why Ellis had decided to join the Carisma team, he had this to say:
The main thing that really struck me having spoken to Ivan on the phone, was his genuine desire to take his cars and company to the next level. We both understand this may not be a quick project, but we both want the same thing, and that is to positively bring Carisma Racing to people’s a en on, and to create both quality and fast, R/C race cars. I have a new found enthusiasm for racing, and am really looking forward to seeing what Ivan, his team, and myself can come up with in the future with the cars and the race results.

Now the Florida-based company has released a quick list of all the 2018 JConcepts events, making it easier to plan race dates accordingly. The third round of the Swiss SITCC series was held in Geneva recently and it was HB Racing’s Kevin Zwahlen who walked away with the day’s win. Kevin would start from the pole position into the triple mains with Cham Dassanayake and Briac Berthoud on P2 and P3. After the finals however it was Arnauf Buffat who obtained the runner-up spot after some setup changes allowed him to challenge the other front runners. The overall top 3 result was rounded out by Briac Berthoud in 3rd.

The Korean Yokomo Championship was held last weekend and it was Serpent’s Jeon Hanyoung with the win in both the 2WD and 4WD Buggy classes. The Yokomo duo of Sin Minsu and Woo Hongmin would come in 2nd and 3rd in the 2WD class while the wheeler podium was rounded out by TLR’s Han Suman and Yokomo’s Si Minsu.

The Italian Tekno RC Trophy was held at the Rapallo track last weekend. The event was held in 1/8th Nitro and Electric classes and in the F1 Nitro A-main it was Team Associated’s Davide Ongaro with the win in challenging, slippery conditions. Xray’s Marco Baruffolo would come in 2nd from Tekno RC’s Alex Zanchettin 3rd. Over in 1/8th E-Buggy and after some entertaining triple A-mains it was Marco Baruffolo with the win after the tie-breaker from Davide Ongaro 2nd and Alex Zanchettin 3rd.
