Akio Sobue wins at All Japan Touring Car Champs

The All Japan Touring Car Championships were held at RC Park Beetops over the weekend. In the Super Expert class Tamiya’s Akio Sobue dominated the qualifying and he ultimately took the win over team mate Naoto Matsukura in the triple A-mains by winnig the first and second leg. VBC Racing’s Hayato Ishioka rounded out the top 3 result.

Hendrik Lainemäe doubles at Baltic Championships

The 2015 Baltic Championships were held at the freshly renovated Tartu racetrack with drivers from Latvia, Lithuania and Finland in attendance. In the 1/8th Nitro Buggy class Rainer Ressar was able to grab the TQ by winning three of the five qualifiers. The 45 minute main final at first saw Rainer in the lead and even building a gap on the field but problems with backmarkers cost him some time later on, allowing Hendrik Lainemäe to catch up. After a pit incident when Rainer was blocked by another car Hendrik made it through and he was able to cruise to the win despite a chasing Rainer who started closing the gap to the leader. Ultimately Hendrik brought home the title from Rainer with Igoris Vilcinskas completing the top 3.

Henschel wins at LRP-HPI-Challenge East Division race

A round of the East German division LRP-HPI-Challenge was held at the Blankenfelde track. As this was the first race under new rules many drivers of the former 10.5T and 17.5T classes attended in the 13.5T category which made for some very close racing. At the end Martin Henschel (ARC) took the win from Xray driver Stefan Schulz. Steffen Stein (HB) rounded out the podium in third.

Thursten Yeo wins at NCT Series Rd5

Round five of the NCT Series would be held in Wall Walla, WA. In the 2WD Short Course class Thurston Yeo took the TQ for the triple A-mains of which the opening one didn’t went well for him as he only came in third spot behind David Cruise Halloway and Clayton Groom. A2 and A3 then saw a clean sweep by Thurston, who got into grips by using a different tyre choice, to take the day’s win and with it the third overall victory this season.

2015 NCT season finals – Announcement

The 2015 running of the NCT Finals will take place in Pasco, WA on September 11th to 13th. Top drivers from all over the Northwest will be in attendance to battle it out for the Columbia Cup title, as well as secure additional points to boost their standings in the NCT. 2015 Tamiya Championship Series finals – Report

The 2015 Tamiya Championship Series finals have concluded at Tamiya America’s racing facility in Aliso Viejo, California. The event spanned two days and this year’s final celebrates 21 years of on-road Tamiya R/C car racing. There are eight new class champions, four of which will be representing the USA at the Tamiya World Championships in November; an event during the Tamiya Fair in Shizuoka-City, Japan. The four class-champions that will be moving on to the Tamiya World Championships are: Rod Canare in GT-1, Tyree Phillips in Formula, Roel Espina in GT-2 and Orlando Sherman in the M-Chassis class. The champions in the additional classes are Chris Widado in GT-3, Tyler Limsnukan in Novice Spec, Julian Wong in FWD and Lee Passehl in the Pro Spec/BMW M3 Cup.

2015 JConcepts Bash 4.0 – Announcement

JConcepts in conjunction with NewRed Hobbies brings the Bash 4.0. The event which draws entries from a multitude of genres is a one-of-kind R/C showcase. The Ocala, Florida, based facility offers an indoor off-road race track, outdoor scaling/trailing course and Chicago style monster truck racing circuit and each will be specifically built for the 4th edition of the unique event. The Saturday portion of the event takes place on the indoor race track and consists of 1/10th off-road racing with a host of classes made popular on the Super Cup Championship Series while on the Chicago Style monster truck course, R/C monster trucks will race side-by-side showing off a unique but popular form of racing in a scale-like fashion. Sunday is reserved for the Tuff Truck Competition which takes place on the custom Trailing Challenge course, mud pit and sled pulling courses which are setup around the NewRed Hobbies complex. Entered drivers will compete in 4 separately scored events to determine the overall Tuff Truck Champion. 2.2″ and 1.9 and 1.5″ classes will be available to appeal to an array of drivers looking to enter their rigs into competition.
