Tonisport Onroad Series Austria

The pilot race of the Tonisport Onroad Series Austria was held at the 1. MRC Wiener Neustadt track in Vienna over the weekend. Despite being scheduled on the weekend before the EFRA 1/10th Electric Off-road European Championships in the UK the event attracted more than 100 drivers including international guests such as Bruo Coelho, Ronald Völker, Yannic Prümper and Marc Rheinard to name just a few. In the Touring Car Modified class Ronald Völker and Bruno Coelho fought for the TQ position with Marc Rheinard also being in the mix. At the end it was Ronald who came out fastest from Bruno and Marc.

Kyle Skidmore joins Motiv RC

Motiv has announced the addition of long time US racer Kyle Skidmore to the Motiv pro team. Kyle has never been shy to race any class in RC but his skills are most recently put to use racing his Serpent 1/10th scale electric off-road vehicles. Kyle is no stranger to national level events and has been observed as a professional at tracks for many years. Kyle had this to say about his new partnership:

I’m excited to be one of the first drivers on the Motiv pro team. Testing the product went great and now I’m excited to showcase all my sponsors with the new addition to my racing package.

Chan takes 2014/15 WCICS Mini Championship

The Western Canadian Indoor Championship Series WCICS have announced that Ivan Chan grabbed the Tamiya Mini Championship this season. Mike San Antonio drove his mini to 2nd overall, and young up and coming racer Brandon Rogers took 3rd.

Tyre Wars 2015 – Announcement

The Herts Nitro Model Club has announced the Tyre Wars 2015 race for the 29th to 31st of August. The event will see 1/8th nitro buggy, 1/8th E-buggy and 1/8th nitro truggy racing with the controlled practice being held on Saturday, qualifying on Sunday and finals on the bank holiday Monday. The buggy classes have to use either the AKA Impact, Beta Freeride or Pro-Line Blockade tyres while the truggy drivers can use any AKA, Beta or Pro-Line tyre of their choice. Xray Challenge Hungary – Announcement

The Xray Challenge Hungary will be held on the weekend of the 13th of September at the PECS track in several electric and nitro on-road classes including Modified, 13.5T Boosted and 17.5T Blinky. The nitro categories will see large scale and 1/8th racing as well as EFRA and Stock 200mm classes. More information and the registration can be found here.

Bruno Coelho dominates Portuguese TC nats Rd5

Round five of the Portuguese Electric Touring Car Nationals was held at the Torres Novas track, home of the forthcoming EFRA Euros. Hot weather conditions with temperatures of up to 35 degree Celsius made for trick track conditions with the low grip causing some troubles for the drivers. Bruno Coelho (Xray) was the man to beat in the Modified class as he took the TQ after the qualifiers and he won all three A-mains some two laps in front of the runner-up driver. At the end Joao Martinho (Yokomo) came in second while Fernando Cordeiro (Tamiya) rounded out the top 3 result.

Werner Spannbruckner wins at Hobby Cup Austria Rd3

Round three of the Hobby Cup Austria was held at the bumpy and difficult track in St. Aegyd. In the qualifiers Jan Kruisz set the fastest time to start from pole position into the triple finals. The mains then saw Werner Spannbruckner taking the win from Jan while Bernhard Poinstingl grabbed the final podium spot.

JBRL Electric Series Rd5 – Results

Round five of the Jimmy Babcock Racing League Electric Series was held at Pegasus Hobbies in Montclair, California over the weekend. In the premier class of 2WD Modified Buggy Shawn Blackwell Sr. took the win from Jake Mayo in 2nd and Jeremy Hase Jr. in 3rd.
