Thomas & Bidlake win at NZ South Island Champs

Thomas & Bidlake win at NZ South Island Champs

The New Zealand South Island Championship has recently been dominated by Mark Bidlake and Lee Thomas who brought home the wins against the region’s fastest drivers. Lee was really happy to take first place overall and a convincing TQ in 2WD Buggy. He then went on to also TQ and win 4WD Buggy for a double victory. Mark Bidlake then raced to a solid victory in 1/8th E-Buggy, having only raced his buggy only a handful of times before the event.

Drake, Guerrero & Castelan take JBRL Nitro Series titles

The 7th and final round of the Southern California based JBRL Nitro Series was held at Thunder Alley Raceway in Beaumont, California. The season end race also decided on the overall series titles with the 1/8th Expert Nitro Truggy class being won by Adam Drake who left Cody King and Drew Moller behind in 2nd and 3rd place respectively.

CML Masters 2015 Paris – Report

CML Masters 2015 Paris – Report

The 2nd Annual CML Halloween Masters was hosted at the BCL indoor track at Louvre, Paris this past weekend. With over 220 entries across 6 different classes CML are proud to announce it was a huge success and will become a regular feature on the 1/10th off-road calendar. In the premier 2WD Modified class it was Craig Drescher who surprised the field and hit the ground running with a flourish. His Reedy-powered B5M topped practice, every qualifying round and all 3 mains. It was a flash back of the 90’s for Drescher who was in superb form. Even Drescher said he was “astounded” to be so competitive after 13 months off the sticks. The final then saw Craig continuing to excel with his 3-gear transmission equipped mid motor AE buggy as he left Nicolas Risser (Team C) and Elliott Boots (Kyosho) behind in 2nd and 3rd place respectively.

Akio Sobue wins at Speed King Tour Rd6

The final round of 2014 Speed King Tour was held at the Crest Speedway indoor carpet track in the Gunma prefecture. In the Touring Car Modified class, TRF young gun Akio Sobue lead the championship going into the final round from last year’s Speed King Yugo Nagashima. After three rounds of qualifying Akio took the overall TQ from VBC driver Yugo who scored a round TQ but missed the pole position.

Eric Hodge wins 2WD Mod at Race for the VETTS

The Race for the VETTS was hosted by the T&T Speedway indoor facility in Shreveport, LA with the event attracting drivers from the Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana region. With 23 entries the 2WD Modified Buggy was the largest class in the field of almost 80 total entries. Qualifying was based on your one fastest of three runs. Eric Hodge TQ’d 2WD Mod Buggy, being the only buggy driver to put in a 20 lap run. The 8 minute, 10 car A-final was pretty stacked with names like Larry Pryor and Mugen Seiki driver Drew Spurgeon. Overall the main was pretty uneventful and “a racers dream” for Eric as he put in a near flawless run to take an unchallenged tone to tone victory.

Wagner wins at central German LRP-HPI-Challenge

The 4th round of the central German division LRP-HPI-Challenge was held in Hütschenhausen, Germany. The race attracted 54 drivers to race in the four classes of Rookie, Classic, Stock 17.5T and Stock 10.5T. The actual race started on Sunday morning and in 10.5T Stock it was Manuel Wagner who easily TQ ‘d the fastest of the stock classes. Second on the grid was last year’s LRP TCM Stock 17.5T winner, Daniel Anthes while Alex Kunkler took the 3rd spot. In the final Manual secured himself the overall win early by winning the first to A-mains. Thanks to a win in the final leg Alex Kunkler grabbed the runner-up spot from Daniel Anthes, who rounded out the podium in 3rd. Thorsten Zorn and Boris Herzog completed the top 5 result.

Belgian SCT Cup Rd8 – Report

The 2014 season of the Belgian SCT Cup came to an end with the final round being held at the brand new indoor clay track of the BRCC, the first and only venue of this kind in Belgium. The new track attracted a lot of driver as the 8th round counted a new record attendance for the SCT Cup. The Pro2 class qualification then was very open with a bunch of new local drivers joining. Loic Voumard (TLR), running in a lower heat, scored the best times in the opening two rounds to take the overall TQ early while Martin Vierin (Team Associated) took the final round to start from 2nd on the grid. Behind the two Julian Andre (Team Associated), Nicolas Gandibleu (Team Associated) and Nicolas Evens (TLR) lined up tie on points.
