Alex Kunkler joins Awesomatix Factory team

Awesomatix are pleased to announce the addition of the German/French racer Alex Kunkler to the Factory Team. Alexandre is a known racer with a lot of experience from the past years racing all around Europe. The multiple ETS finalist in the Stock class will participate at all the remaining Euro Touring Series events as well as other well known regional events. Alexandre said of his new deal ‘Feeling super motivated and happy to join the Awesomatix team after borrowing lots of cars for the last few months! Looking forward to my first race next week at ETS Rd2 in Andernach and a big thank you to Max for making this happen!’

Schumacher Racing team welcomes Riccardo Berton

Schumacher Racing would like to welcome young Italian star Riccardo Berton to the team. Riccardo is the current 1/8th European champion and Worlds A finalist. On his new deal he said ‘Big thank you to the Schumacher Family for the opportunity to race with their cars, I am really thankful and I look forward to do some of the most important races. See you soon’. Riccardo will continue with his Infinity program for 1/8th but joins them for his 1/10th racing. He will be competing at many large 1/10th events around the World as and when travel allows.

Louis Kretschmer joins Awesomatix Factory team

Awesomatix have announced the addition of German stock class driver Louis Kretschmer to their Factory Team. Louis is another ‘young gun’ in the Awesomatix Team and he will participate at the Euro Touring Series events, where he recently finished 4th overall, as well as local events in Germany like RCK and TOS races. Louis said ‘At this moment I am just thrilled to be part of the Awesomatix team. I’ve dreamed of working together this closely for years. This opportunity is a real pleasure for me and I hope to be an asset to the team. It will be a big milestone in my career that I will never forget. A big thank you to Max and Oleg for this opportunity. I hope I can get some good results for the team. See you on the racetrack!’

Schumacher Outdoor Off Road Masters Rd2 – Report

This past weekend was the second round of the newly organised SOOM series, there was once again a great entry of drivers in the 2wd class on Saturday. The entries for 4wd on Sunday were a little lower than we had hoped for, mainly due to several racers having to cancel due to Covid restrictions. The race format was round by round qualifying, with the best 2 results from 4 rounds of qualifying counting towards the final position. There is usually 1 final for all competitors and 3 leg A finals. However due to the lower entry numbers in 4wd, we decided to have 3 leg finals for everyone, so more racing and track time. This was well received by the racers. The Mendip crew had designed a fantastic track layout for our event, a huge thank you to them all for their hard work and dedication.

BRCA Clubmans Rd3 WLRC – Report

Round 3 of the BRCA Clubman’s was hosted at West London Racing Centre in Hillingdon last weekend. The weather fortunately held out for this meeting with torrential rain predicted, which only arrived once some excellent racing had finished. With a very good entry of 43 drivers in the 17.5 Blinky class we were in for some close racing with many of the country’s top drivers present. Schumacher driver Andy Murray was the man to beat, but after taking 3 round wins he was proving unstoppable as he lined up P1 for the final. After 2 torrid A final legs it was a clean sweep for Andy making it a perfect day’s racing taking the win ahead of the Xray’s of Ben Cane and Soteris Lisai.

Schumacher GP Italy – Race Report

The 2021 edition of the Schumacher GP Italy took place at the beautiful outdoor track of Minicar Fontanellato near Parma and saw solid participation with available places being sold out some time before the race. In Touring Car Modified, Team Schumacher’s Mattia Collina, won a thrilling race from the TQ ahead of Alessio Tolomelli (Awesomatix) and Luca Torreggiani (Xray).

Völker wins big as ETS heads into season #14

The ETS started into season 14 last weekend at Arena33 in Andernach, Germany where last season ended in September 2020. With 200 entries it was a great turnout for the ETS as there are still some countries with very strict Covid-19 restrictions limiting people traveling to races. The free practice day (Thursday) started with a wet track at Arena33 but after the asphalt dried out, the weather stayed in good conditions during the whole weekend. The Matrix Modified class saw a dominant Ronald Völker winning all four rounds of qualifying ahead of Antoine Brunet who had a flawless weekend showing excellent driving and pace. Behind them, Lucas Urbain and Marc Rheinard lined up third and fourth with Christopher Krapp also in the mix starting from the fifth position.

Wins for Jefferies & Askell at BRCA Nats Rd2

For round two of the BRCA Touring Car series drivers headed to the southeast of the UK to the Colchester club. In modified Olly Jefferies headed the entry but at a recent warm up race he was beaten for the first time this season which threw the form book out of the window and on paper at least opened the door for the likes of Kyle Branson, Chris Grainger and Harley Eldridge who all looked quick in pre national testing. Jefferies took round one of qualifying while Grainger sat out the first round giving him the new tyre advantage over the following runs, the Awesomatix went on to take TQ ahead of Jefferies but would start the finals on used rubber.
