Lloyd Storey wins 2WD at SWS Rd3

The 3rd round of the popular Silverstone Winter Series was held at their indoor astroturf track in Northampton. As ever, the Silverstone team built a challenging yet flowing track to test the full entry of drivers. In the main 2WD class, Lloyd Storey and Nathan Waters took all four rounds of qualifying, with two each. Lloyd took the overall TQ by virtue of the faster time over 5 minutes, and would line up on pole for the A final. Nathan stayed on Lloyds tail for the entire length of the final, but Lloyd managed to take the win just ahead of Nathan, closely followed by Kev Lee in 3rd.

Elliott Harper signs with Schumacher

Schumacher announce that four-time IFMAR World Championship A-finalist and EFRA Euros podium finisher Elliott Harper has signed to represent Schumacher Racing on a multi-year deal. Elliott was one of the hottest properties in the driver market after announcing earlier in the year he would be leaving his previous sponsor. Schumacher would like to welcome Elliott to our Touring Car Team and wish him the best for the future. Elliott had this to say about the deal:

After deciding to leave my previous team, I took some time to carefully consider which company I wanted to represent and race for in the future. Schumacher became an obvious choice for me not only is their support and customer service second to none, but they have also achieved huge successes in all of their market leading projects. My aim is to continue these great results not only in the UK, but also across Europe and the rest of the world. I have seen the team work exceptionally well together, listen to driver feedback, continuously develop their cars and implement innovative ideas. My first touring car was in fact a Schumacher, so I feel very proud to fully represent the brand that started off my racing career. I cant wait for the coming seasons and races with Schumacher.

Michael Schoettler wins at Northwest Indoor Series Rd1

Last weekend kicked off the first round of the Northwest Indoor Series in Tacoma, Washington at Tacoma R/C Raceway. A race series that wasn’t supposed to exist, but with a last minute decision by Scott Brown and a little help from the community … the most competitive off-road racing series in the pacific northwest is back. This unique event caters to all the passionate off-road racers in efforts to unite the community for a weekend of friendship, competition, and fun.

Xray X1 Work.Shop Italy – Announcement

After the success of the first ever Xray Work.Shop the second instalment will be held this coming weekend, the 19th to 21st of December, at the Minispeedway in Remedello at Angiolino in Italy. Organised by multiple Italian Champion Francesco Martini participants will learn on how to setup the Xray X1 and T4. Francesco was the part of the X1 development team so you have the best chance to learn all the finest X1 building and setup tricks directly from the designer. The schedule sees a build workshop on Friday, practice sessions and a tips ‘n tricks part on Saturday and a fun race on Sunday.

Ronald Völker wins Touring Car Modfied at GP3F

Last weekend the Grand Prix des 3 Frontieres was held in Longwy, France with top drivers like Ronald Völker, Alexander Hagberg, Loic Jasmin and many more attending. The field split into 49 entries in Touring Car Modified and 96 entries in the Stock class. In the Modified class it was Yokomo’s Ronald Völker who lead the proceedings followed by Alexander Hagberg (Xray) and Marc Fischer (Serpent) who rounded out the podium in 3rd.

Xray sweep Slovakia Cup Rd2

The 2nd round of famous Slovakian Cup was held at the prestigious Hudy Arena in Trencin, Slovakia. In the Touring Car Modified class it was David Nemcek who got his maiden 1st place finish this year at the Slovakia Cup after coming in 2nd at the season opener. David is now leading the overall ranking with a 12 points margin. The runner-up spot at round 2 went to Igor Liptak while Oliver Havranek rounded out the podium in 3rd.

Chris Grainger splits with Schumacher

Chris Grainger has announced that he will be departing Schumacher Racing at the end of 2014. Chris has been at Schumacher for 6 seasons, and during that time has seen great successes, including lifting three UK National titles, and securing a World Championship A final place in 2012. Chris said:

To all my RC friends. I just wanted to let everyone know that as from December 31st I will no longer be driving for Schumacher racing. I want to just say thank you so much to everyone in the factory who have made the last 6 years the best and most enjoyable 6 years of all my years racing. Thank you all very much.

More news will follow soon regarding Chris’ plans for 2015 and beyond.

Essex Winter Series Rd3 – Report

The third round of the popular Essex Winter Series championship took place this weekend in the South-East of the UK. With the weekend marking the last of major race events of 2014, everyone wanted to finish out the year on a high. In the Modified class, Kyle Branson was back in the field after missing Round 2 due to the 1/10th IC Worlds in Thailand. Previous winners Andy Moore and Olly Jefferies were absent due to other commitments, whilst defending champion Elliott Harper was also unable to race, having yet to secure a new race deal following his departure last month from Team Durango. However, this didn’t detract much from the strength of the field, with Branson going up against multi-time UK National Champion Chris Grainger, multi-time EWS Podium finisher Matthew White, and a whole host of regular A-finalists.
