Magnus Vässmar wins 2WD at Swedish nationals

The Swedish electric off-road nationals took place at a dirt track in Falun, Sweden. The race attracted many top drivers from all over Sweden including Kyosho’s David Ronnefalk and Christoffer Svensson, TLR’s Oskar Levin and Otto Ausfelt, Team Associated’s Niclas Månsson, Schumachers Kenneth Malkusson to name a few. Track layout was pretty small and not too that technical and it was Schumacher’s Magnus Vässmar who took TQ in front of Kenneth Malkusson. The finals had some nice battles to offer and Magnus took the win with Kenneth Malkusson in 2nd. Oskar Levin completed the podium.

Jakub Pietrzak wins Polish off-road nats Rd6

The sixth round of the polish off-road nationals took place in Nova Gadka near Lodz. Due to heavy rain only two races took place on Saturday but Sunday had three rounds of qualifying and the finals and in the end it was Xray driver Jakub Pietrzak who took the winning honours with his XB4 buggy on the very demanding track.

Mark Sousa wins E-buggy at RC Pro Ontario Series final

RC Acres hosted the RC Pro Ontario Series final that saw nearly 150 entries including some of the best drivers in Canada. In 1/8th E-buggy Mugen Seiki’s Mark Sousa, Team C driver Darrin Quinn and Mugen Seiki’s John Semple fought for the win. In qualifying it would be Mark Sousa who would take the TQ in all three rounds with John Semple qualifying in second place. In the triple A-Main format in would be Mark Sousa who would take A1 with John Semple close behind and in A2 Mark would wrap it up for the overall win with John in 2nd and Team Associated’s Mike Rohde running into issues putting him out of A2. In A3 Mark was sitting out having wrapped it up leaving it open to the other drivers to battle for second overall and in the end it would be Mike Rohde (Team Associated/Tekin/AKA) who took the runner-up spot with Arron Innwood (TLR/Tekin/AKA) taking third. The win also handed Mark Sousa the overall championship title in front of Darrin Quinn and Rob Patch.

Justin Gilkison wins at PNW Short Course Shootout

Fresh off qualifying for the A Main in 2WD Modified Short Course at the ROAR Nationals, Justin Gilkison dominated the Pacific North West Short Course Shootout in 2WD Modified Short Course and Open SC Buggy qualifying by taking TQ in both classes. He then went on to win with his X Factory SC and SCB and he also took the third place in 4WD SC.

Søren Boy Holst wins Danish TC championships

The 4th and final round of the Danish National Championships, under the official motorsports federation DASU, where held at the former Euros track in Glostrup, just outside of Copenhagen. The weather forecast promised dry conditions but on practice day the drivers had to cope with mixed conditions. In the SuperStock class Søren Boy Holst and Mike Gosvig showed good speed and a slight advantage over the other drivers although a good amount of drivers would be able to win. The race day started with sun, but a damp track due to overnight rain. In the first round the battle was close between Søren and Mike, but after nine laps Søren’s car stopped and he had to retire to save the precious control tyres. Mike relaxed a bit to spare tyres also and won the round ahead of Lars Holm and Christian Lehm.

2013 JConcepts Clash – Update

2013 JConcepts Clash – Update

With the 2013 JConcepts Clash being less than three weeks away the organisers have send out an update on the proceedings. 440 pre-entries are already in for the most unique event of the year that sees pro drivers like Ryan Maifield, Dustin Evans and JR Mitch all signed up and ready to battle once again. 2WD modified, 1/8th nitro expert and 1/8th e-buggy remain the largest classes of competition and a fresh track layout designed by Paul Wynn is in the finishing stages. The track layout flows like water, the shading on the drawing represents elevation which is a focus inside Flowood R/C park along with rhythmic jump sections and speedy chicane driving. Katelynn Ansari, current Monster Energy girl cover model and 2013 JConcepts Clash girl, will be in attendance Saturday and Sunday for photo opportunities, promotion and Sundays awards presentation. Be sure to come out, stop by the JConcepts booth and get an autograph from Katelynn during the weekend’s festivities. JP Richards wins ROAR Region 5 championships

JR Richards wins ROAR Region 5 championships

This past weekend had the ROAR Region 5 championships held at Summit R/C in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Drivers from Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio were in attendance with multiple drivers from Team Associated, Durango, and Kyosho to battle for the title. TLR’s JP Richards raced his  22 2.0 2WD buggy for the first time where he took TQ honours and went on to win the 2013 ROAR Region 5 title. In Pro-2 JP was again on fire with his doubled up by taking TQ again with his 22 SCT where he went on to win the A-Main taking home his 2nd ROAR Regional Modified title.

Aaron Lane wins rubber class at US F1RCGP

TQ Raceway saw the special USA round of the Japanese F1RCGP race series. The big class of the day was F1 Rubber with the popular UF1 rules format. Some of the top F1 racers in the area vied for the crystal trophy’s generously offered by the head of F1RCGP, Hideo-San, who flew in from Japan for this inaugural location. Once the tyre dust cleared in the A main Aaron Lane emerged on top to take the crown driving the new Exotek F1R2 prototype. Second place went to Bill Jeric who had Kevin “Panda” in tow.
