Mike Gosvig wins 13.5T Stock at X Race Italy

The Xray X Race Italy was held at the indoor asphalt facility of Indoor Racing Chilelli in Touring Car Modified and Stock classes along the further growing Formula category. The weekend started with free practice on Friday, followed by heat practice on Saturday. In the 13.5T class Mike Gosvig and Mattia Collina both showed a very good speed and it looked like the two would battle it out for the pole position. In Sunday’s qualifying Mike then quite easily took all three rounds for the overall TQ some five seconds in front of Mattia Collina. Young Davide Bertuzzi rounded out the top 3 so far.

Chris Banham wins Nitro Buggy at New Zealand Nats

The New Zealand Nationals 1/8th Offroad Nationals was held at the ARCCC track with qualifying spreading across two days, starting on Friday and finishing on Saturday. In the Nitro Buggy class Chris Banham was sitting tie on points with Jonathan Collucio after the five qualifying rounds with his best time being only 1 second slower. Kent Perry ended the qualifiers in 3rd place.

The first Futaba Cup was held at the FRC racing circuit in Bangkok, Thailand in several electric on-road classes including Touring Car Open 13.5T and Formula. In Open Brushless 13.5T Atsushi Hara (Yokomo) took the win from Tanit K. (Team Associated) and Natee T (Xray).

16th annual The Dirt Nitro Challenge – Announcement

The 16th annual Dirt Nitro Challenge will be run from the 18th to the 22nd of the February at the prestigious Fear Farm RC Raceway in Phoenix, AZ. The event attracts the best offroad drivers in the World and this year will be no exception. This event will offer more classes than ever before with the main classes being 1/8th Nitro Buggy and Nitro Truggy, 1/8th eBuggy and Gas Truck. Alongside the 1/8th classes there are also 1/10th Buggy, Short Course and Truck categories as well as 1/5th scale Buggy/Truck, with the latter running on a separate track. The event starts on Wednesday the 18th of February for practice and runs through to Sunday the 22th for the mains. Kelvin Yong wins at Malaysian Regional Championship

Kelvin Yong wins at Malaysian Regional Championship

The Malaysian Central division Regional Championship kicked off its inaugural race at the Cempaka Speedway Bangi with 2014 National Champion, Daniel Law leading the field. Qualifying started on a damp, slippery track and ended with a blue grooved hard pack track. Katoh San took TQ after the three qualifying rounds over Kelvin Yong. The 1 hour A-main then began with a clean start by Kelvin who took the lead after half a lap and stretching it at the round of pitstops for fuel. Around the 15 minute mark, Kelvin dropped to the back of the field when he needed marshalling which also caused a flame out but some very clean and fast drivering allowed him to regain the lead and to win the race in front of Danny The and Kenny Chin.

Michael Johnsen wins DM4 race in Brondby

The DM4 race was held in Brondby, Denmark, with 18 drivers in attendance in the 1/10th pan car class. During qualifying it became clear that the race for the TQ position would be between Rasmus B. Nielsen and Michael Johnsen while Claus Ryeskov and Robert Hansen battled it out for the 3rd place on the grid. At the end of the three qualifying rounds Michael came out successful in front of Rasmus and Claus.

Driver changes to spice things up in ETS Round 2

This weekend (6-8 Feb) Round 2 of the Yokomo Euro Touring Series travels to Muelheim-Kaerlich in Germany with the big interest of the weekend set to be on the debut performances of a number of the championship’s leading drivers who since Round 1 last December in the Czech Republic have switched teams. The most significant of these new signings is that of multiple ETS race winner Viktor Wilck. Racing with championship’s most winning manufacturer Tamiya Racing Factory as long as the ETS has been in existence, the Swede will strengthen Serpent’s aspirations to be a winner in the premiere class as he joins podium finisher Marc Fischer. With the German round again as it did last year breaking a new record in terms of the size of the event with over 420 entries, the other big debuts to watch will be those of Freddy Sudhoff and multiple World Championship finalist Elliot Harper.

Swedish EP on-road Championships 2015 – Report

The Swedish Championships for 1/10th Touring Car and 1/12th Modified classes were held in Örebro, on a purpose-built track that was laid out in a sports hall. On Saturday, followed by a full day of practice on Friday, Markus Hellquist set the pace in both the Touring Car Modified and the 1/12 scale class, 0.537 seconds ahead of Niclas Nilsson in Touring and 0.011 seconds ahead of Alexander Andersson in 1/12 scale. In 17,5T Touring Stock class Andreas Gillblad set the pace just 0.079 ahead of Daniel Trygg.
