Simon Kurzbuch strikes at Swiss Championships Rd3

This past weekend the MRCL Langenthal invited to the third round of Swiss IC Track Championships. The resurfaced track was completed only three weeks ago and the club took the opportunity to celebrate its reopening. In addition to a perfectly organised race, there was also a supporting program with BBQ, fireworks, public-viewing, music and cold drinks. In the 1/8th class the pole position went to Silvio Hächler after a close fight. In the Superpole race, Simon repeated his masterpiece from last weekend, setting the new best time in the very first lap and thus secured his direct starting position in the final. After Silvio had a bad start into the main race, Simon was able to take over the lead before the first corner which he was able to extend to a gap of three seconds. Unfortunately Silvio had to retire the race in the 52nd lap due to an engine failure. Simon Kurzbuch (Shepherd), now without pressure, finished the race confidently and won the 3rd round of the Swiss Championship ahead of the Xray duo of Mattia Pesenti and Luca Martinelli, who crossed the finish line only four seconds apart.

Myron Kinnard TQs & wins at Bash at the Beach

The 2018 Bash at the Beach DAV charity event was hosted by 386 RC Raceway inside the Sunshine mall in Daytona. By far the largest class of the weekend was USVTA with some of the top Florida and Carolina VTA drivers being on hand including a ROAR VTA Champ as well. Myron Kinnard would overall TQ the class by winning the last chance qualifier with a 99 percent consistency and a 28-lapper to line up in 1st for the 8-minute A-main. Sitting in the TQ spot all Myron had to do was make it into turn 1 and 2. With eight long minutes anything can happen, but with a positive mind and steady hand Kinnard was able to go tone to tone, and take home the TQ and Championship.
