Jared Phair sweeps Time To Let It Rip Trophy race

The Time To Let It Rip Trophy race was held this past weekend at Barnstormers RC in Chester, New York. Different than other tracks in the area, this track was very tight and was 100 percent dirt. No clay, no tyre saucing or softening, just simple green and water was the ticket for tyre prep. Jared Phair would take the double TQ, coming out on top in Modified 4WD Buggy and 2WD Buggy. Ultimately Jared would also bring home the win in both classes, with Jack Bonhomme and Scott Salzer coming in 2nd and 3rd respectively in the 4WD class while the top 3 was completed by Mike Billings and Frank Babriecki.

Distrital Coimbra Series Rd3 – Report

This past weekend the third round of the Distrital Coimbra Series was held in Oliveira de Frades, Coimbra, Portugal. In the Nitro Buggy it was Team Associated driver, Nuno Filipe Ferreira who took the day’s win from HB Racing’s Joel Soares in 2nd, the latter having an entertaining A-main has he had to start from the pits following an engine flame out at the start of the final, but still managed a podium result. Behind the two, Mugen’s Paulo Pinto completed the top 3 results.

Adam Drake wins at RC Pro Series finals

The RC Pro Series finals here held this past weekend at Indy RC World and it was Tekno RC’s Ryan Lutz who took the overall TQ in the Pro Nitro Buggy class from Mugen’s Adam Drake 2nd and Team Associated’s Jake Dellinger 3rd. The hour-long A-main then saw Adam coming out on top, taking the win by a narrow 1.3 seconds in front of Tekno’s Ryan Lutz, the latter coming back from a 95 second lap running out of gas. Jake Dellinger again rounded out the top 3, a result that earned him the overall title in the Pro Nitro Buggy class. Tyler Hooks (Tekno RC) and Noah Dickerson (Xray) would complete the top 5 results. In the 40+ Nitro Buggy class it was Mark Morrow with the TQ and win from Jeff Keeton in 2nd and Shaun Grider in 3rd.

Tal Siles wins Israeli League Rd4

The fourth round of the Israeli League was held at the Omer Ring in Dishpan. In the Nitro Buggy class Ofir Avitan (Mugen) snatched the TQ after the qualifiers some three seconds in front of Tal Siles (Mugen) and Ido Carmon (Kyosho). In the 40-minutes A-main however it was Tal with the win, a lap in front of Ofir as Ido Carmon rounded out the top 3 result.

Ki Heung Kim takes Sweep Competition race

Last weekend the Sweep Competition race was held at the GRC circuit in Gimpo, in the Kyunggi province of Korea. In the Formula class it was Shepherd’s Ki Heung Kim who took the TQ honours and he would also sweep the single 10-minute A-main event, taking the win by nearly a full lap from 2nd placed Sungchul Shin (Roche) and 3rd placed DaeYoon Jung (Team Associated).

Kaja Novotny doubles at Mibosport Cup Rd3

The third round of the Mibosport Cup series was held last weekend in Hrotovice. The race had attracted more than 220 racers which promised competitive racing in all classes. In 2WD Modified Buggy it was Xray’s Kaja Novotny who TQ’d all three qualifying rounds as the Xray duo of Max Gotzl and Daniel Kobbevik fought for P2 and P3. However in Q3 it was Ales Bidovsky (Team Associated) with the faster time to line up in 2nd on the grid from Max and Daniel in 3rd and 4th.

JConcepts Fall Super Cup Rd4 – Report

The JConcepts 2017 Fall Super Cup Rd 4 at Southside R/C Raceway in Lake City, Florida, marked the end of a fabulous fall season. The Florida race scene has been strong all year long with great turnouts for the Spring and Fall Super Cup Series. Unfortunately, the rescheduling of round 4 due to a rainy weekend forecast, pushed the finale into mid-December and with the holiday season just around the corner, organisers were glad the turnout was above expectation and the racing was in full-speed form.

Jerry Dean Jr. wins RC Pro finals & series

This weekend was the 2017 RC Pro Series finals, the largest event of the year for the series with 191 entries total for the race. Team Associated driver Jerry Dean Jr. was in a close battle with Agama driver Jake French as both battled for the TQ until the last round. Ultimately Jake took the TQ by tie breaker setting up a great triple A-main battle. A1 went to Jake as A2 went to Jerry. The final A started with Jerry getting past Jake on the first lap then making a mistake and falling back to 3rd. Jake took the lead with Jerry following close behind. On lap 7 Jake made a mistake that let Jerry take the lead and from that moment on he never look back to take the win and the overall series championship in E-Buggy.
