The 2018 Philippine Masters will be held from the 4th to the 6th of May at the Circulo Verde track in Quezon City, Philippines. Classes run will be 1/8 Nitro Buggy and 1/8 Nitro Truggy and the event is organised by the Voice of RC, Scotty Ernst. The 2017 Fall Brawl was held at Badlands RC Supercross in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina last weekend. Unlike in years past where it was cold, rainy, and the event even had some snow, this year the weather was exceptional for December. Adding to the magic of fantastic weather and great atmosphere, the track was dialed and extremely fun to drive on. Every lap provided challenge and an unexplainable thrill that put a smile on your face. The flow was perfect, the jumps required skill, and even the cross-over was money. All in all, the Fall Brawl keeps getting better every year and this year proved to be an unforgettable outdoor 1/8th nitro experience.

This year, the ROAR Region 4 Regional Championship was hosted by Coral Springs R/C Car Club in Coral Springs, Florida who provided an awesome layout that was fun and had a lot of flow. Quite unique to the Florida racing scene, the red clay treated with calcium chloride provided ample grip, but the rainfall prior to the event never allowed the track to fully mature into its typical high-grip state leaving it bumpier than usual. In 2WD Modified and showing that he still has the skills to pay the bills, Team Associated driver Jason Ruona takes the highly coveted regional title with a terrific performance in A1 and clutch run in A3 to seal the deal. Team Associated’s Lee Setser would wrap up 2nd with Serpent’s Justin Fales 3rd on the box. Paul Wynn would finish 4th with Chris Intravia 5th overall.

The HVBRS club of Islikon, Switzerland recently hosted the opening round of the Carpet Master series. Team Magic’s Philipp Huber was the man to beat in the Touring Car class as he took all three qualifiers and the triple finals to take the day’s win from Roland Kupper (Awesomatix) 2nd and Nuno Huber (Xray) 3rd.
Huge RC Circuit of Bangkok, Thailand played host to the 2017 International Touring Car Manufacturers Championship last weekend. The event attracted about 70 entries to compete in several electric and nitro on-road classes. In the premier EP category of Touring Modified it was Meen V. with the TQ, however after the A-mains Atsushi Hara found himself on top of the podium with Surikarn C. and Mongol Span rounding out the top 3 result as Suphathat K. and
Tanit K. completed the top 5 podium.

Palm Desert R/C Raceway hosted the 13th Annual Toys for Tots Race this past weekend with the event having nearly 80 entries. In the Pro Buggy class Adam Drake set the pace in both rounds of qualifying and started first in the 25 minute final. Drake went on to win the 25-minute final followed by Mugen Seiki teammate Anthony Westergaard, and Team Associated’s Richard Saxton. Elsewhere in the electric buggy class Anthony Westergaard was the top qualifier and won the 10-minute final from Cole Jenson and Marcus Garrett.
A round of the Finnish Winter Jumps series was held in the Helsinki area this past weekend. The event was organised by Finland’s biggest RC club, Fullspeed RC and Joona Haatanen was once again the fastest driver of weekend as he TQ’d and won both the 2WD and 4WD classes. In 2WD the best of the rest was lead by local star Tuomo Otsavaara from Mikko Luopajärvi in 3rd.

Last weekend’s US World Nitro Cup saw Rafael Angulo pulling the hat trick in the GT8 ROAR 5-port Spec class. Rafael would be taking the TQ honours, victory and fastest lap of the event, leaving behind Joel Aubrey in 2nd and Tim Caporal 3rd.
