Bloomfield wins rained out HNMC Summer Series race

Bloomfield wins rained out HNMC Summer Series race

Round six of the HNMC Summer Series would be held at the impressive Herts facility that was used for the Euro B Championships in June. The end of August in the UK typically sees a few rain showers, and the forecast was for some rain in the afternoon this time, so everyone was at least hoping that could get qualifying completed before the rains came. Darren Bloomfield has been putting in plenty of track time lately, and with that he has got the settings of his car well tuned and is very comfortable in his driving. Using the the same chassis settings as he had at the recent UK National round, Darren was untouchable in qualifying posting times faster than he achieved at the National. He would TQ all 3 rounds on his way to some very impressive lap times. Behind Darren there was the usual Herts protagonists in Kevin Brunsden, Tony Truman and Ollie Currie who had also all been extremely quick at the National, and these guys were battling it out and would be 2nd, 3rd and 4th in qualifying. Sadly, the predicted rains came almost immediately as qualifying finished and while they tried to run the first final it quickly became clear that the rain was here to stay, and the meeting would have to be cancelled.

Dutch 200mm Nitro On-road Champs Rd5 – Report

Round five of the 2015 Dutch 200mm Nitro On-road Championship was held in Utrecht in the centre of the Netherlands. The Utrecht track is the oldest permanent track in the country and was constructed in the early 1980’s from a line flying circle which also forms the track’s characteristic main straight bend. Good weather and temperatures of close to 30 degree Celsius made for perfect racing conditions but it would also make for increased tyre wear of the Capricorn control tyre which would be a factor in the main final. After the triple qualifiers it was again Daan Jacobs who took the TQ as he was the only driver to score a 20-lap run. Pedro Rombouts, Julius Kolff and John Bruins followed with 19-lap runs to complete the direct qualifying top 4.
