Mugen Seiki Racing have announced the signing of Carson Wernimont for the 2014 racing season. The former Durango driver, who just signed for Schumacher to run electric, joins Worlds finalist Taylor Peterson and will be a strong addition to the team that Mugen USA is building for the 2014 race season.

The 2014 Italian Job Race took place at the famous IBR Padova indoor dirt track in Italy. The race attracted a good amount of European top drivers like IFMAR World Champion Robert Batlle, Renaud Savoya, Yannick Aigoin and Elliott Booth to name just a few. The finals where run in a triple A main format over the standard “single leg” final making for loads of track time and an exciting race for the overall crown. At the end of the three 15 minute legs it was TLR’s Alex Zanchettin who brought home the F1 category win on home soil in front of Robert Batlle (Mugen) and Xray’s Renaud Savoya. Alex started with a win in A1 but had to make way for Robert Batlle and David Ronnefalk (Kyosho) in A2. The third and decisive final than had Alex taking the win in front of Renaud Savoya and Martin Wollanka (Xray) to take the overall victory in front of Robert Batlle and Renaud Savoya.

Top Italian racer Francesco Tironi has signed to run for Team Shepherd in the upcoming 2014 season. The multiple Italian Champion, Worlds podium finisher and EC / ENS finalist is going to use the Velox V10 for 1/10th scale and the Velox V8 for 1/8th scale at both European championships, the 1/10th Worlds and the ENS series. Being well know for his positive attitude he will additionally give some track support at races in Italy. Francesco had the following to say:
First of all I would like to thank Capricorn for the last two years. But now it’s time to move on and I’m very happy to join the Shepherd factory team. Especially after their multiple 1/8th EC titles in 2013 and the big steps they made with their innovations on the V10 PRO it will be pleasure to be a part of this team. Capricorn have announced that current 1/8th European vice champion and multiple British champion Kyle Branson has joined their team for this season. Kyle will be running the full car line from Capricorn and as always competing at the European championships in both 1/8th and 1/10th classes and also this years world championships for 1/10th. He will also attend all of the ENS series this year. Kyle had the following to say:
I am very happy to be joining Capricorn for this 2014 season. The continuous development from Capricorn is very impressive, they are always trying their best to improve their products and be on top. I first ran with Capricorn at last years 1/10th European championships and was extremely happy with the support from Patrizio. XRD Engines have bagged themselves another big name with the signing of current ROAR National Champion DJ Apolaro to a 2 year deal. The Capricorn driver moves to his new sponsor having run 6 years for Novarossi previously. DJ gave the following statement:

Front running US driver Max Flurer has joined Team Serpent USA. The former Associated driver joins the company’s offroad team to race and support the expanding Serpent car line-up. Max joins the recently announced Mike Truhe, Matt Schreffler and the car’s designer Billy Easton to make a pretty solid team.

Confirming what we already knew, Serpent have confirmed that top US driver Mike Truhe is joining Team Serpent. Mike is a highly respected and experienced rc driver with a long list of race victories including 3 ROAR National titles and will be helping support the growing line of Serpent cars. Mike will be mainly running the offroad cars in 1/10 and 1/8, EP and GP, and the planned 4wd 1/10 buggies and SCT as well and even mentions that he will try some gas onroad.

Former European Champion and French Championship front runner Yannick Aigoin has announced that he has made the switch to Ultimate engines and Pro-Line tires for 2014. The Associated team driver who previously ran with nVision engines and Pro Circuit tires made the announcement from IBR Padova, where he is competing this weekend at the annual Italian Job race. Yannick had this to say:
I’m really happy with my new package and cannot wait to race with it … Off course, I need time to learn this but I’m very confident this will give me the best chance to achieve my goals in 2014. I’d like to thank everybody who made this possible!
