Due to the high grip conditions DJ and his team mate Kenny Ives went for an aggressive tire change strategy and pushed the entire race with a qualifying setup. The polesetter was able to lead from the start and to make a little gap on Ralph with a larger gap on the rest of the field. The track itself is a challenging combination of fast sweepers and slow corners and very narrow at times. Due to a bad weather forecast it was decided to cut the schedule to a one day event with fast qualifying rounds that were lead by Niklas Johansson in front of Marcus Lindner and Christofer Hedlung.
