The organisers of the GTS series have announced a venue and date change for their 2nd race of 2021. Originally set to take place in Leno in September, the venue has been changed to the World famous Gubbio track in central Italy from the 2nd to 3rd of October. Following a successful first event at the Autodromo di Vallelunga in June in which Bruno Coelho took the double for Xray, the 2nd and final race of the year is expected to draw an even bigger entry as travel restrictions continue to be lifted.
Last weekend was the first race of the new-for-2021 GT Series (GTS) at the fantastic Vallelunga RC track in Italy. With a lot of drivers attending the event from mid week to test and learn the track it was building up to be a great race. The Xray team had a strong team present with Bruno Coelho and Martin Bayer heading the entry, and from qualifying onwards Coelho was dominant, taking the TQ spot in both Nitro and Electric with his GTX and GTXE respectively. In the finals it was more of the same as the Portuguese driver took the wins in both classes ahead of team mate Bayer in both, with SWorkz racers Leonardo Valente in 3rd in Nitro while Natanaele Senesi took his Serpent to the final podium spot in the EP class.
With the first event in the 2021 GTS set to take place next month (June 12-13) at the Autodromo di Vallelunga near Rome in Italy the organisers are pleased to confirm a number of high profile racers set to be in attendance. Xray are to be represented by a strong team consisting of multiple World Champion Bruno Coelho who will compete alongside the car’s designer, and himself a top international racer, Martin Bayer. The multi-discipline specialist and multiple Italian National Champion Alessio Mazzeo is also confirmed and he will head the Serpent team’s entry alongside British National Champion Mark Green.
