Daniel Kobbevik wraps up Norwegian National titles

The final race of the Norwegian EP Buggy nationals was held at Hverven Raceway in Oslo on astro turf. The track was rebuilt for this race, so everybody came to a new track and so nobody had home track advantage. This part of the year is naturally slippery in the morning with more grip during the day, and a little less grip in afternoon. There was only a little free practice in morning, and then right into reseeding, to get it as fair as it could be for this championship. Daniel Kobbevik was much faster than the competition with his Xray XB2. This weekend it was especially one driver that stood out from the rest and it was Yokomo driver Eirik Andreassen. He had really good pace and was second fastest on lap times, so it was more about who was going to start from third to 10 in A-main. After reseeding it was Daniel that topped all those rounds, and it looked the same after quails was done. 4 rounds with TQ.

OneTen Series set for double headers

The organisers of the OneTen series presented by Infinity are delighted to announce our timetable for the 2018/19 season. With the series run at 4 different locations between October and March, each venue will play host to two rounds of the championship. Aiming to get away from the traditional race format played out over a weekend, we have introduced a new schedule that sees both the Saturday and Sunday rounds run to different formats. Saturday will see a focus on longer qualifiers of 6 minutes and short 4 minute triple finals while Sunday has shorter qualifiers, but more of them, and a single 8 minute main, incorporating bump ups. The organisers hope that this will encourage different approaches to each round in terms of setup and driving while the double header allows each racer two chances to get a good result. For the series, 5 of the 8 rounds count towards the final standings, however trophies will be presented to the top 20 in each class based on a driver’s combined result from both days. Entry for each event will be limited to 100 across both classes and is now open for round 1 at RCI V2 in Shanghai on October 6-7. You can submit your entry by clicking here or by contacting RCI V2 direct and you can find out more information about the OneTen Series here.

2018/19 Essex Winter Series – Announcement

Oli Meggitt and the well-known EWS Events team have announced the 2018/19 edition of the popular Essex Winter Series. The five-event championship will take place at EWS’s indoor venue in the south of the UK. The EWS is one of the most popular on-road series in the UK, and will be keeping many of their simple, straight forward rules the same again this year. There will be classes for Modified and Super Stock 13.5 Blinky Touring Cars, plus a new “Amateur Stock” class for this year. Amateur Stock will follow the lead of the ETS in trying to attract new racers to the bigger events – it will use a hand-out 17.5 motor, is open to novice/new drivers, and doesn’t allow any drivers with sponsorship to enter. All classes will race on a brand new Sweep tyre, which offers more grip and speed than the previous version, whilst remaining very consistent over many runs – perfect for the huge EWS track which uses the now-standard ETS carpet. Entries are now open via the EWS website and are expected to fill quickly. More details on the series, along with full rules and information, can also be found on the site or via email to Oli Meggitt (oli.meggitt@gmail.com). More details on the signature “EWS International” race, to take place in December, will follow in a few months’ time.
