Evans & Cavalieri set early pace at Reedy Race

New Team Associated recruit Dustin Evans and team-mate Ryan Cavalieri have set the pace in early practice for the 23rd running of the Reedy Race of Champions at OCRC Raceway.  With Associated using the event to debut their long overdue new 4WD, all their drivers in the invite class running the new B64D chassis, Evans got his first appearance with the team off to the best possible start as he topped the times ahead of his young team-mate Joona Haatanen.  After the 2 rounds of practice, the first round not more than a track break-in run, it was Cavalieri who set the fastest 3-consecutive laps for 2WD ahead of Ty Tessmann for whom the event marks his debut with Xray.  Mr. consistent over both classes was defending champion Dakotah Phend, the TLR driver taking his cars to the 3rd fastest time.

Creation Model/Infinity welcomes Takaaki Shimo

Creation Model have announced the signing of Japan’s Takaaki Shimo to their team. The long-time Mugen development driver will be part of the company’s nitro research and development program and Creation Model are really happy to welcome Shimo San on board to race Infinity’s nitro on-road cars both on a national and international level. Takaaki says:

I’m pleased to join one of the strongest team I ever see in my racing career; I’m really excited to team up again with some of team mates I shared good times in the past like Lamberto, Francesco and Nikaido San. I will spend all my efforts to develop the Infinity nitro platforms for the upcoming season and beyond. It’s a new chapter of my life and I hope it could be a successful one once again. Daniele Ielasi joins FastRace SuperGT team

FastRace from Italy have announced the signing of former IFMAR 1/10th 200mm World Champion, Daniele Ielasi to their SuperGT team. After so far doing only select races with the GT-R15, included the win of the Euro GT race back in 2015, Daniele will now enjoy a full season with FastRace, including appearances at the Italian Nationals and the European Championship.

Cody King NitroPro fuelled for 2017 and beyond

NitroPro Fuel have welcomed US frontrunner and former 1/8th Nitro Buggy World Champion, Cody King to their team. Cody will be running NitroPro fuel for the 2017 season and beyond and he has the following to say:

2017 HotRace Summer Cup – Announcement

HotRace Tyres and Tonisport have announced the HotRace Summer Cup for the 15th and 16th of July. The event will see the running of an Invitational Touring Car Modified class as well open Touring Car Modified, 13.5T Stock Touring and Formula categories. The Invitational class will be held in a special format with six open Modified drivers able to bump up into the A-main and the best drivers from Italy and Europe racing against each other. In addition to the race there will be a huge party as usual and more information, including a presentation of the hosting track, will become available soon.

2017 Charity Race – Report

The 2017 edition of the annual Charity Race, organised by Team La Gang and held at the RC Landia track in Scandiano, Italy, attracted some of the fastest Italian drivers to compete against guests from all over Europe. Touring Car Modified was a showcase for the sport with Marc Rheinard taking the win in front of Ronald Völker after a big fight. The final podium spot was was taken by super fast Mattia Collina who won the fight for the lower stair of the podium over Alessio Menicucci and Christopher Krapp.

Bringing with him a wealth of knowledge and experience in all facets of offroad racing, Ryan will play an integral role in helping Yokomo develop their vehicles to be better suited to North American style tracks, and serve as brand ambassador attending numerous events throughout the US, Europe and Asia. Having tested extensively in the build up to this weekend’s Reedy Offroad Race of Champions, Ryan had the following to say:

RC Pro Style have announced the signing of Robert Batlle to their team. The record Spanish National and former World Champion will use the company’s high-performance LiPo battery packs in 2017 and he has the following to say about the deal:
