Zdenko Kunak teams up with Capricorn

Italian company Capricorn have announced the signing of former ETS Pro Stock Champion Zdenko Kunak to their electric on-road team. Zdenko will be racing in Touring Car Modified and Stock classes at events such as the ETS, the LRP Masters and other important races in Europe and World-wide. This is what Zdenko has to say about the deal:

First of all I would like to thanks Patrizio and other guys in Capricorn factory for everything they did me during my visit in Milano. It’s been a year since I make a pause in my racing career for a reason, but now I’m back, even stronger than before. I will be racing 1/10 Stock and Modified category at ETS, LRP Master and other big events in Europe and in the world.

IFMAR add Open GT World Cup to Large Scale Worlds

Due to the so far disappointing number of entries for this year’s IFMAR Large Scale World Championships in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, IFMAR have announced the addition of a second class, 1/8th Nitro GT. Held as an open event the “World Cup GT 1/8th” will be run under ROAR and EFRA rules to make for more racing action during the event that will take place from the 4th to 12th of September. With 1/8th GT being an up and coming class in all four blocks the international governing body will review the possible need for a World Championship as it will take a look into the schedule of the large scale class in order to make adjustments to the international schedule as well. Adam Drake fuelled by Flash Point Racing Fuel

Flash Point Racing Fuel have announced the signing of Adam Drake. Adam has been testing and running Flash Point since February, but has now made it official that he will be running Flash Point Racing Fuel exclusively and will be helping with the development of the fuel and future products.

Hot Race Cup & Beach Party – Announcement

The 2015 edition of the Hot Race Cup & Beach Part will be held on the weekend of the 26th of July at the Riccione track in Italy. The race will be held in the three classes of Touring Car Modified, Touring Car Pro Stock 13.5T and Formula with the Modified class will be run in a special format that sees the B-main drivers battle for an 11th A-main spot in a hot lap contest. Each of the B-main drivers will run a warm-up lap followed by a timed lap with the fastest driver bumping up to the 11 spot in the A-main. As usual the famous Hot Race Cup beach party will be held on Saturday evening and registration will open today, the 8th of June at 8 pm here. Martin & Matsukura take Worlds Warmup victories

The warmup event for October’s IFMAR 1/10th electric offered World Championships is taking place at the World famous Yatabe Arena in Japan this weekend. Running alongside the Japanese National Championships the event has attracted a number of overseas drivers, there to test their equipment and skills on the newly readied astro turf surface. Following a day of 2wd practice and qualifying with a similar day for 4wd it was EOS Champion Lee Martin who took his Yokomo to the TQ position after 4 rounds in front of US Associated designer Kody Numedahl 2nd and former World Champion Neil Cragg in 3rd. In 4wd it was 4-time onroad World Champion Naoto Matsukura, driving for Kyosho, who ended qualifying on top with Kyosho team mates Yusuke Sugiura and current 2wd World Champion Jared Tebo in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

JJ Wang continues with Mugen

Mugen Seiki Racing have announced the re-signing of JJ Wang to their team. Considered one of the highest recognised professional drivers in the RC community the Chinese-American racer is known for his raw talent and he will continue to run Mugen on-road nitro vehicles in his campaign that will see attendances at national and international races.

Coelho endorses huge following with first ETS win

Bruno Coelho has won the fifth round of the Yokomo Euro Touring Series in Luxembourg, a fourth place in the final A-Main enough for the A2 winner to secure his first overall win in the world famous electric touring car championship. An event that would see four drivers go into A3 with a chance of the overall win, the new star of touring cars Coelho would become only the 11th different winner of the ETS’ premiere class helped by Xray team-mate Alexander Hagberg taking the win ahead of Marc Rheinard. Again briefly taking the lead only to again roll his HB Jilles Groskamp would complete the podium at the unique Mini Circuit “Ville de Luxembourg” track. For reigning champion Ronald Volker his chance to secure a fifth consecutive title will have to wait until the season finale at the Hudy Arena after he put his Yokomo on the grass while leading, leaving him to end the event 5th overall. Rheinard’s second today means the Tamiya driver still has a very slim chance of the title.

Martin & Batlle win at Mugen Seiki Cup

The 2015 Mugen Seiki Cup was held in Reims, France this past weekend. The race brought together Mugen’s international star racers, local talent and newcomers alike for a workshop and race weekend. As for the racing side of things, in the 1/8th Nitro Buggy class UK’s Lee Martin came out successful from Spaniard Robert Batlle and Italy’s Davide Ongaro while in the triple E-Buggy mains Robert Batlle took the winning honours from Stephane Couchon and Davide Ongaro.
