Hupo Honigl and Team C part ways

Multiple European Champion Hupo Honigl has confirmed his departure from current chassis sponsor Team C. Having only joined the team this time last year after a long spell at Durango, the Austrian racer had a competitive season racing the company’s electric car but struggled with an un competitive 1/8th scale. Yet to confirm his new sponsor for 2015 he released the following statement.

I would like to say thank you to Stephen Shih from TeamC and Jürgen Laux from Absima for a wonderful and successful year and their great support. Although it was only a 1 year journey for me I made a lot of new friends there and had good fun. I was super happy with everything but now i have a new challenge and I´m more then motivated to start fresh again, stay tuned…

Associated & Reedy lock down Spencer Rivkin

Team Associated and Reedy have announced that they have signed 2014 break-out star Spencer Rivkin to a multi-year agreement that will keep him with the team for years to come. Rivkin has been on an upward trend since his first major win at the Cactus Classic back in 2013. The now 16-year-old Arizona driver has racked up two ROAR Stock National Championships, a 4WD Open title at the Reedy International Off-Road Race of Champions, and countless podiums at Nationals-level events. When asked about signing Rivkin, Team Manager Brent Thielke said:

Spencer has the raw speed and dedication required to go far in this sport. All of us at Team Associated and Reedy look forward to working with him for many years to come.

Rivkin will be representing the full line of Team Associated and Reedy products and will be concentrating on 1:10 and 1:8 off-road. With an assortment of events scheduled, look for Rivkin’s purple and blue cars at a race track near you.

Lars Hoppe joins Savox Factory team

Savox have announced the signing of front running German Lars Hoppe to their Factory team. The recent winner of the opening round of the Euro Touring Series in the Czech Republic will now use the Savox line of servos in his 1/10th electric Touring and 1/8th nitro on road cars during his 2015 campaign.

Naoto Matsukura joins Muchmore Racing

Muchmore Racing have announced the signing of multiple IFMAR 1/12th World Champion and current Electric Touring Car World Champion Naoto Matsukura to use their line of electronics from 2015 onwards. The former Yokomo driver who has still to decide on a chassis sponsor will use Muchmore Racing’s Fleta ZX Motor, new Impact FD2 LiPo batteries and Fleta ESCs at the upcoming TITC, EOS, ETS and upcoming IFMAR World Championships in Japan. Naoto had this to say:

First, I have to say thank you to Team Yokomo and specifically Mr. Tom Yokobori, Mr. Robert Itoh and Mr. Naoya Kitagawa for the last several years together. I will always have great memories with those member. Now I have a change. I have to say thanks to Mr. Jang and Mr. Kobayashi Yusuke for giving me this great opportunity with Muchmore Racing. The biggest reason I have a contract with the Muchmore Racing team. I have been last world championship impressed by the good quality and performance of the Marc Rheinard use new Fleta 1S ESC and Fleta 1S Motor.

Italian company Mon-Tech Racing have announced the signing of Euro Touring Series Formula Champion and Pro Stock Vice Champion Jan Rathiesky to use their complete line of body shells from 2015. The German joins ETS Pro Stock Champion and fellow Xray team driver Marek Cerny as well as Mattia Collina and Nico Catelani who have all extended their deals with Mon-Tech.

Muchmore Racing have announced that current 3-time IFMAR ISTC and 2014 IFMAR 1:12 World Champion Marc Rheinard has renewed his contract with the Asian firm and that he will be also using Muchmore’s line of competition batteries from 2015, having used Thunder Power batteries for several years now. Marc, who already uses Muchmore’s electric brushless motors, speed controllers and chargers, had the following to say about the deal:

I would like to thanks Thunder Power LiPo batteries for their great support over the last years. Now is time for a change. As I’m already using the new Muchmore Racing Fleta ZX motors and Fleta ESC I made the decision to use all electric products from Muchmore Racing. I’m really happy with all Muchmore Racing products, quality, design and technical support … all is perfect and we work as a Team perfect together. After several years of being with Agama and Nemo Racing former ROAR National Champion and Worlds podium finisher Jeremy Kortz announce he will leave for a new venture due to having an opportunity offered he could not miss. No information about his new sponsor are available yet and we keep you up to date as soon as information become available. Jeremy has the following to say about his move:

I would like to thank Agama and Nemo Racing for the support over the past few years! But an opportunity has came up that I couldn’t miss. I miss the old school racing days and this opportunity reminds me of that time. Naoto Matsukura and Yokomo part ways

Multiple IFMAR 1/12th World Champion and current Electric Touring Car World Champion Naoto Matsukura today announced his shock departure from long term sponsor Yokomo. The protege of RC legend Masami Hirosaka has been under contract with the Japanese manufacturer for the last 10 years and it us understood that both parties parted ways amicably. When contacted the Japanese star gave no information about his future plans or his reason for leaving but it is strange timing with the Yatabe Arena in Japan, Yokomo’s own track, hosting the 1/10th EP offroad Worlds next October. More information as we get it.
