Collari confirmed for ENS Round 2 in Austria

1:8 Onroad legend Lamberto Collari has confirmed his entry for Round 2 of the Euro Nitro Series which takes place in Austria over the weekend of May 16-18. The winner of the opening round of the all new nitro onroad championship last month in Melzo, Italy, the 9-time World Champion is one of a number of top Italian drivers who will travel to the Aigen track in Northern Austria. Also confirmed from Italy for the second event of the four events that make up the inaugural ENS race calendar are 2-time 1:10 European Champion Dario Balestri (Capricorn), 1:10 World Championship podium finisher Francesco Tironi (Shepherd), Round 1 1:8 A-Finalist Andrea Pirani (WRC) and former Euro B Champion Mirko Salemi (BP Racing).

Xray Challenge Grand Final – Report

The Xray Challenge Grand Final was held last weekend at the Hudy Racing Arena in Trencin, Slovakia. Racers from around Europe joined the race, which saw some 60 entries in the 5 different classes of 1/10 nitro, 1/8 nitro, 1/10 Touring Car Modified, 1/10 Touring Car Stock and 1/10 World GT. The racing weekend started on Friday with open practice for all drivers with the good weather allowed for running on the big outdoor track.

Kurzbuch & Gruber win at EFRA GP Lostallo

The famous Lostallo track played host for an EFRA nitro on-road GP. Free practice got underway on Friday afternoon after rain brought the proceeding to a halt during the morning. The event saw only a small number of entries but the quality of the field was very high with drivers of the like of Simon Kurzbuch, Merlin Depta and Toni Gruber. After the qualifying rounds Mattia Pesenti (Xray) took TQ from his Xray team mate Claudio Pasquin with both scoring 15 lap runs. Simon Kurzbuch, Merlin Depta and Toni Gruber completed the top 5.

2014 Arena Outdoor - Announcement

After a break of a few years the famous Italian Arena race is back, this time going back to its roots, moving back outdoors. From the 29th to the 31st of August Arena Outdoor will be run at one of the best outdoor buggy tracks in Italy, the DirtRaceRC track of Diego Fuser. The race will be open to Nitro buggy, Nitro truggy and Brushless buggy categories with all the info about the race format, timetable and categories to be posted online very soon. Despite moving from the unique “country style” venue, the organisers are sure you will be impressed by the new location because they have a lot of surprises to make you feel home at Arena 2014. Victor Wilck joins Serpent nitro team

Tamiya’s Viktor Wilck has teamed-up with Serpent to run the company’s nitro on-road and off-road vehicles, the Dutch company announce. The Swede will run the new Natrix 748 1/10th car at this year’s EFRA Euros and IFMAR Worlds, he will use the 1/8th Viper 977 at the Euros and Nordic champs and he will also have a bit of fun in the dirt while racing the Cobra 811 buggy at the Nordics. We understand that his contract with Tamiya to race the company’s electric chassis is not affected by his new endeavour.

Neumann caps off EOS with win #10

Joern Neumann has capped of the third season of the Euro Offroad Series with the overall win in Austria, a result that brings the Team Durango tally of 4WD Buggy victories in the championship to 10.  Having sewn up his third consecutive championship title in A2, the German would go on to win the closing race of the Modelbau Wels Hobby Show event to take victory at the season finale ahead of Top Qualifier Naoto Matsukura with young star and Durango team-mate Michal Qrlowski completing the podium.

Neumann retains EOS title, Matsukura win A2

Joern Neumann has retained his Euro Offroad Series 4WD Buggy title, the outcome of the second leg of the A-Main in Wels, Austria, making the Team Durango driver unbeatable in the points standings.  Having messed up on the opening lap of A1, Top Qualifier Naoto Matsukura made amends with a near faultless win over Martin Bayer with Neumann third.  While the overall win will be decided in A3 between Matsukura, Bayer and Neumann, Nuemann’s third in A2 means the worst result he can claim this evening is third and even his only title challenger does record his second win if the season Neumann takes the win on tie break thanks to one of his TQ’s in the opening two races of the season.

Neumann takes A1 ahead of Orlowski

Defending Champion Joern Neumann has won the opening 4WD A-Main at the season finale of the Euro Offroad Series in Austria moving a step closer to retaining his championship title.  Chasing his third title in a row, starting from the No.2 spot on the grid the Team Durango driver would end up taking an easy win over team-mate Michal Orlowski.  Taking the lead on the opening lap after Top Qualifier Naoto Matsukura got out of shape at the first double with a second mistake by the Japanese driver, who took the 2WD crown from the German yesterday, allowed Neumann to cruise the last six laps of the race.  Falling behind both Orlowski and fading title contender Martin Bayer, Matsukura would complete the Top 3 after himself and Bayer came together for which Bayer was made to wait and give back the position.
