EFRA releases 2014 race calendar

EFRA releases 2014 race calendar

Following last weekend’s EFRA AGM in Zagreb, the European governing body have announced the (provisional) dates for next year’s European Championships with the 1/10 IC Track Euro date still needs to be finalised. A busy summer season with 3 ‘B’ championships, a 1/8th flat chassis Euros and 2 40+ titles along with the usual ‘A’ titles up for grabs. Full AGM details can be found here.

May 5-10 – 1/10th on road ‘B’ Euros – Madrid, Spain
May 26-31 – 1/8th on road ‘B’ Euros – Bologna, Italy
June 6-8 – 1/8th off road ‘B’ Euros – Madrid, Spain
July 11-13 – 1/8th off road 40+ Euros – Fehring, Austria
July 14-19 – 1/10th EP off road Euros – Trelleborg, Sweden
July 21-26 – 1/8th on road ‘A’ Euros – Kirchberg, Austria
July 31 – August 3 – 1/10th EP on road Euros – Madrid, Spain
August 1-2 – 1/8th on road Flat chassis Euros – Gubbio, Italy
August 4-9 – 1/8th off road ‘A’ Euros – Sand am Main, Germany

Alex Zanchettin wins at IBR Winter Indoor Race Rd1

The first out of three Winter Indoor Race meetings was held at IBR Padova last weekend. The race saw a good amount of international drivers attending such as Kyosho’s Cody King and Elliott Boots, Team Durango’s Jörn Neumann or Mugen’s Robert Battle to name just a few. At the end of the hour long F1 final TLR’s Alex Zanchettin took the win one lap ahead of TLR team mate Alessandro Stocco. Cody King finished five seconds down in third position. Martin Wollanka (Xray) and Jerome Sartel (Agama) came in fourth and fifth respectively.

Asmer does Pro Stock/Formula double at ETS

Serpent driver Jan Asmer became the first double category race winner today when he took the overall win in both the Xray Pro Stock and Formula classes at the season opener of the Yokomo Euro Touring Series in the Czech Republic.  Having already made ETS history yesterday when he TQ’d both classes, the final day of the Hrotovice event did not get off to a good start for the German but in the final round of A-Main he turned things around to win both of his A3 encounters to secure the top step on the podium.  A great start to the defense of his Formula title, the win in Pro Stock’s marks his first touring car win with him describing that race as the hardest 5-minutes he has experienced in racing.

Volker pulls off the perfect start to ETS Season #7

Defending Yokomo Euro Touring Series Champion Ronald Volker pulled off the best start possible to Season #7, the Yokomo driver taking the overall win with another faultless win in Leg 2 of the A-Main in the Czech Republic. Chasing a fourth consecutive title in the World famous championship this season, the win is the German’s ninth ETS career win and the fourth year that he has won the season opener.  Having won Leg 1 from Marc Rheinard, he again headed home the Tamiya driver in Leg 2 with Yannic Prumper completing the Top 3.

Volker handed easy Leg 1 win

Ronald Volker was handed a relatively easy win in the opening A-Main at the Yokomo Euro Touring Series this morning in the Czech Republic after the two drivers starting behind him clashed on the opening lap.  A coming together between Xray’s Alexander Hagberg and Awesomatix’s Freddy Sudhoff allowed Volker to take a 1.3 second win over Tamiya’s Marc Rheinard with Yokomo’s Naoto Matsukura completing the Top 3.

Volker is Top Qualifier for ETS season opener

Ronald Volker is Top Qualifier for the opening round of the Yokomo Euro Touring Series, the German putting the top spot on the grid beyond the reach of his rivals with another TQ run in the third of the four qualifiers.  The perfect start to the defense of his 3rd consecutive ETS title, the Yokomo driver again had to work hard to put his BD7 top of the time sheets with both Alexander Hagberg and Freddy Sudhoff in the mix.  Unfortunately for Hagberg a slower car ruined his chance of forcing the overall TQ to go down to the final round of qualifying in Hrotovice. Rolling his Xray Hagberg would end up sixth with a much improved Marc Rheinard completing the Top 3 for the round.

Round 2 of qualifying at the season opener of the Yokomo Euro Touring Series produced a very close three way battle but a late charge by last night’s Q1 pace setter Ronald Volker saw the Yokomo driver just pip Xray’s Alexander Hagberg to make it two from two.  Once again Awesomatix’s Freddy Sudhoff was in the mix claiming third despite two mistakes, finishing just ahead of Serpent’s Marc Fischer.

Neo Race 2014 – Announcement

Neo Buggy and DXR officially announce the 2014 Neo Race, to which entry opens November 6th – known collectively as the “1/8 buggy Indoor Worlds” by those who attend the event year after year. The 9th running of the Neo Race organised by NeoBuggy and DXR sees a welcome return to our regular Easter slot: 18-21st April 2014; after last year’s event took place during the height of the British summer. The Agricultural University Harper Adams in Shropshire continues as the venue for the event, now returned to 4 days in length – running Friday – Monday. Once again the popular “Vampire Racing” sponsored 1/8 Electric buggy class returns – limited to 45 drivers, the main nitro buggy class is limited to 225 entries.
