Evans tops opening 2WD Buggy qualifier

Dustin Evans got his first JConcepts Clash appearance off to the perfect start as he TQ’d the opening round of 2WD Buggy qualifying this morning at the Flowood Indoor RC Park in Mississippi.  The Team Losi Racing driver took his Orion powered TLR22 around the large indoor clay track in a time of 13/5:13.153 to top defending champion Ryan Maifield by over three second with TLR team-mate JR Mitch claiming third for the round.

Thailand Mini-z World Champs – Announcement

RC City Thailand have announced the 2012 Kyosho Mini-z World Championship on November 23rd – 25th, 2012. The event will take place at the famous RC City circuit near the Bangkok International Airport. International Mini-z racing events are not new but this is going to be the largest of its kind in Asia. Classes include 2WD Stock; AWD Stock and Open (Modified) Class. Racers from America, China, Taiwan, France, Spain, Thailand and SouthEast Asia will compete against each other with their highly customized Kyosho Mini-z vehicles. Besides the racing weekend, Bangkok was recently named ‘World’s Best City’ by Travel + Leisure magazine therefore it is a bonus for the trip as a foreigner. Hudy Racing Arena joins as host of ETS finale

The schedule for the sixth season of the Euro Touring Series has been finalised with the exciting news that the Hudy Racing Arena in Slovakia will open its doors to its first international race meeting by hosting the season finale of the world famous electric touring car championship next Summer. The official test track of reigning ETS Pro-Stock Champions Xray, Round 6 of the upcoming season is scheduled as an outdoor event but should the local weather give rain for the July 19-21st date the state of the art facility can quickly switch to an indoor event ensuring racers who make the trip to the historical city of Trenčín will still get to race no matter what the weather. The other big announcement for the new season is that Modified champions Yokomo will continue as title sponsor for a third consecutive season with the series to continue to be officially known as the Yokomo Euro Touring Series.

Michele Romagnoli wins 2012 Novarossi Trophy

Shepherd sent this short report from Samuele Romagnoli about the international Novarossi Trophy which took place in Fiorano. “We arrived at the track on Friday and although there was rain predicted it was a sunny day. We fired up our Sonic engine and immediately our Velox V8 was fast as the setup was nearly perfect. The only thing to decide was the body to use: the Protoform P909 had a little bite more steering, but the new R18 was a little bit easier to drive. Therefore we did a lot of tests with the bodies and tyres.The Sonic motor was immediately running perfectly at very low temperatures combining a good fuel consumption and a high top speed.

7th Petit RC Race – Announcement

The 7th Petit RC Race will take place at the Mustit Raceway in Moss/Norway from the 11th to 13th of January. After successful events in France and the UK, both run on carpet tracks, the Petit RC crew will create something completely new as the 2013 race will be held on an US-style indoor clay track. Mibosport cup – Announcement

Mibosport with support from Yokomo and LRP have announced their winter race series. Last year 220 drivers from six different countries including European Champions Ronald Völker and Hupo Hönigl attended. The series will take place in the Czech Republic, in the popular city of Hrotovice, where previously the ETS, EOS and European Indoor Championships have been held. The event will take place indoors, in a hall that has enough space for 2 separate tracks, on-road and off-road. The on-road track will be 30x20m in size, and the off-road track will be 30x16m.

Pro-Line 2012 Challenge – Report

The Pro-Line 2012 Challenge took place at the HNMC track and offered three days of racing with international drivers, a new track layout with option section, a junior race and mechanics race, 138 nitro buggies, 11 nitro truggies and 12 E-buggies. The club had taken this race on short notice so the organization for the event was a bit rushed, the HNMC team did the best they could and put their effort into building the best track yet. The weather for the event did not look good the week of the event but luckily only the Saturday would suffer with heavy showers thunder and lightning with qualifying being scrapped. Practice rounds were TQ’d by Elliot Boots and Tony Truman with Ryan Cavalieri and Joseph Quagraine finding there rhythm round the track. On Sunday drivers were greeted by a damp track that was drying nicely offering perfect conditions. Nitro buggy saw Elliot Booth and Ryan Cavalieri battling for the top position while the truggy class saw  Jon Hazlewood in front followed by Callum Niblett and Jon Howells. In E-buggy again Jon Hazlewood took the top spot followed by Craig Drescher and Mike Cradock. In the final Jon was not able to conserve his form with Elliot Booth taking the top podium spot followed by Craig Drescher and Karl Jackson.

Dutch EFRA GP – Announcement

The AMCA club in Apeldoorn are playing host to a 1/8th EFRA GP from the 21st to the 23rd of September this year. Run to EFRA rules, this event will also include a 40+ race for the ‘old guys’, and everyone participating must have an EFRA drivers license or valid national license. Already attracting some top driver don’t pass up the opportunity to race on one of the World’s finest circuits and to go up against some of the quickest drivers in Europe.
