JJ Wang wins HPI Works Challenge in China

The first of two HPI works challenge races in China took place this past weekend at the Shanghai RCI racing club. Atsushi Hara, Shin Adachi and EC Kim joined the Chinese HB drivers Wang Hai Feng and JJ Wang at the indoor event, which saw more than 30 drivers in attendance. Shin Adachi took TQ but it was JJ Wang having the better end for him finishing first in front of EC Kim from Korea and Atsushi Hara in third. The organisers would also like to send special thanks to Muchmore for supporting the event.

2012 Reedy International TC Race of Champions

What started out many years ago as Mike Reedy’s vision to showcase the top drivers in the world in a format unlike any other ever used in RC racing, has grown to be one of the most anticipated and prestigious RC races anywhere in the world. Reedy and Team Associated are proud to announce that the 2012 Reedy International Touring Car Race of Champions will return to Norcal Hobbies in Union City, CA from May 24th to 27th. In addition to the Invitational class, three Open classes will be offered – Modified,13.5 non-ramping, and 17.5 non-ramping. Each Open class driver is limited to a maximum of two classes. Contact Tyres breaking records in testing

Contact Tyres got in touch to tell us their drivers Dario Balestri, Simon Kurzbuch and Kyle Branson are in Italy this week testing at the famous Cassino track. The guys are putting in important mileage ready for the new season and so far things are looking good. Dario Balestri already made a new track record of 13.050 compared to the previous best seen at the track of 13.222 by Lamberto Collari. The guys will continue testing to provide better products throughout the week.

Alberto Garcia joins Highest RC

Highest RC have announced that top Spanish racer Alberto Garcia has decided to use their products in the 2012 National Championships and other races. In the past, Alberto used other well known servo brands but after testing Highest servos, Alberto has decided to exclusively use them in 2012.

Alexander Hagberg joins Elangears

Alexander Hagberg, winner of the recent Snowbirds, got in touch to let us know that having used LRP chargers for most of his career he has changed electronics sponsor and will now use Elangears chargers and electronic accessories.

Novarossi sign Simon Willetts

Novarossi have announced the signing of front running British driver Simon Willetts to their team for 2012. The Mugen team driver will run Novarossi engines and exhaust systems to power his ride this season having previously driven for Team Orion.

Neumann fends off Martin to win 4WD in Belgium

Having taken an easy win in the opening 4WD Buggy A-Main Team Durango’s Joern Neumann had to fend off a hard charging Lee Martin in Leg 2, the German just hanging on for the win to secure the overall victory at the second round of the TLR/Spektrum Euro Offroad Series.

Martin takes 2WD victory in Belgium

Factory Tamiya driver Lee Martin has won the 2WD Buggy class at the second round of the inaugural TLR/Spektrum Euro Offroad Series in Charleroi, Belgium. The British driver repeated his easy win of the opening leg with another tone to tone victory in the third A-Main to claim the top step on the podium at the Black Country Arena ahead of TLR’s Dustin Evans and EOS Round 1 victor Joern Neumann.
