Nicholas Lee joins Matrix tyres

Having recently signed for KM Racing, 2011 Tamiya Asia Cup & World Cup Touring Car GTA Class Champion Nicholas Lee has also joined Matrix tyres for the 2012 season. The Singapore driver has this to say:

As I will be competing at most of the major nitro events this year, it has come to my attention that using the best tyres will be important. So I have chosen Matrix and I would like to thank Cristian for giving me this opportunity. I will give my best to produce desirable, if not winning results in my future races.

Picco sign Oliver Mack

Picco in Italy have announced that former German champion and multiple World and European finalist Oliver Mack has joined our racing team. The factory Shepherd driver will work closely with Edoardo Picco to race for the coming race season and get important feedback on their Torque on-road engine line. Oliver will make his competition debut with the new engines at the Florida Winternats in the middle of February.

Shin Adachi confirmed at Team HB

Having recently announced his departure from Kyosho, Team HB have today announced the addition of Shin Adachi to it’s ranks. Shin has been racing R/C cars since he was 3 years old and has amassed an impressive list of achievements throughout his career. He will be a valued addition to the World Championship Winning Team HB and joins the likes of Atsushi Hara, Andy Moore, Ty Tessmann & Jesse Robbers. Shin Adachi had this to say:

I am very happy and excited to join Team HB. As a team driver on this world top team, I’m confident and cannot wait to go to the races coming up this year. As I will also be a part of R&D, I would like to provide everything that I have learned and experienced from my long team professional R/C racing experience to the team. I’m very confident that the team will be even stronger with my addition. Please stay tuned for both myself and Team HB in this 2012 race season!

Pro-Line Cactus Classic – Announcement

The 26th Annual Pro-Line Cactus Classic will take place on March 23-25 with the World Famous Scotty Ernst announcing the race. As always, the race will be held at Hobby Town’s Scottsdale R/C Speedway in beautiful Scottsdale Arizona. Daniele Ielasi joins Team Sonic

Team Sonic have announced the cooperation with former World and European Champion Daniele Ielasi. Together with Sonic creator Patrick Schäfer he is responsible for the development and improvement of the engine line as well as for the sales and support for the competitive Italian market. Additionally he will attend all major national and international races including the 1/8 Euros in Portugal, the 1/10 Euros in Italy and the 1/10 Worlds in Thailand using the Sonic V.12T and the Sonic V.21T. Daniele had the following to say:

First of all I would like thank Picco for the good support over the past years. As the Sonic engines are produced by them I’m sure we continue to be in close contact. Sonic engines offers me a new challenge and I’m extremly happy to increase the collaboration with Shepherd/Sonic and Patrick Schäfer. With my experience I will help as much as possible to ensure a high quality standard and best performance of the Sonic engines.

Silver State Nitro Challenge – Announcement

Southern Nevada RC is proud to present the prestigious Silver State Nitro Challenge which will be held from April 19th to 22nd. Volker pulls off perfect Italian job

Ronald Volker has pulled off yet another perfect weekend on the Euro Touring Series’ first ever visit to Italy with a win in the second A-Main of the Ride Modified class securing the defending champion his second overall win of the 2011/12 season. Having held off the close attentions of his factory Yokomo team-mate Yannic Prümper in the opening final, the German this time had to hold off the attention of Tamiya’s Marc Rheinard who looked far more like the threat we were expecting from the World Champion this weekend.

Völker sees off Prümper to win first A-Main

Euro Touring Series Round 2 Top Qualifier Ronald Volker led a 1-2 finish for Team Yokomo in the opening A-Main of the Ride Modified class in Italy but the champion was made work hard for the win as team-mate Yannic Prümper mounted a serious challenge over the race’s closing laps. Seperated by just 8/100th as they crossed the finish line, the pair were the class of the field with Tamiya Racing Factory’s Marc Rheinard finishing a distant third.
