Italian company Capricorn have announced that top Norwegian racer Adrian Bernsten will join their International team for 2012. The former Xray driver, who has previously run Capricorn engines, will now use their 1/8th and 1/10th scale chassis’s as well as Capricorn engines, tires and fuel.

The 4th running of the Trofeo Genitin race and was held recently at the RC Raceway in Rome, Italy. Over 60 Drivers in Stock and Modified class took part and the organizer Luca Magnocavallo did a great job. Steven Weiss with his new T.O.P Photon EX (Prototype), Alessio Menicucci (Associated), Alessandro Brunelli (Serpent) and some other good drivers took part. In the first and second qualifiers in the morning, it was Steven Weiss that emerged on top in front of Alessio with his Associated. Alessio was running new tires for the final round and with Steven on old tires Alessio took the TQ by 1 second in front of Steven. Alessio got a good start in the first final with some mistakes from Steven he was able to win the leg. The same start in the second final, but Alessio made a small mistake and after 5 laps Steven was in front and was able to take the win. In the 3rd and final leg, it was the Associated driver Alessio, who made a mistake in the first corner and Steven swept into the lead and would win the leg by one lap. The runner up spot went to Diego Macchioni with Alessio Menicucci in third.

Reds Racing have announced top Spanish Agama driver Daniel Vega as their new official team driver. Reds Racing expects some great results in 2012 with Daniel, but apart from driving he will also manage distribution and build a Factory Race Team for the Spanish and Portuguese off-road markets.

By signing Adrian Berntsen, ORCA gets a super professional driver with plenty of potential for the future. The Big Guy from the north has made an impact on the racing scene in recent years, not only because of his size, but also with impressive results. Adrian has won 3 Norwegian titles, took the 2010 EFRA Junior European Champion and has been a European Championship finalist for the past two years. Adrian will use the full line of ORCA speed products including Vritra VTC MK2 Speed Controller, RX2 Brushless motors and Infinity LiPo batteries. Adrian has this to say:

Having recently traveled to Japan to the world famous Yatabe Arena for the Asian Touring Series Pilot race and realising the significance of this event as a precursor to a full series in 2012 we decided to document the event. What you see above is the final result. Enjoy.

Neo Buggy & DXR have officially announce the 2012 Neo Race, the Neo12. To be held from the 6th to 9th of April 2012, the 7th running of the race will once again be held at the Harper Adams indoor facility in the UK. The timetable will be similar to Neo11, a 4 day racing format is planned with practice on Friday 6th, five rounds of qualifying on Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th, with finals on the Monday 9th. Qualifying will use 7 minute heats and the best three rounds from five will count. After the success of the special races at Neo11 they will return, juniors final, over 35 final, the Dash4Cash for the top qualifiers as well as three new additions, the WAG & Family race (open to wives, girlfriends & family), the Bash4Cash for the bottom qualifiers and the ‘Last Chance Saloon’ just after the semis, providing some entertaining on-track action each day. The organisers hope to once again welcome some of the finest 1/8 Buggy drivers to attend this prestigious annual event. Entry opens on the 28th of November on RC411.
Team Yokomo’s Ronald Volker and Awesomatix’s Ivan Laptev are the winners of the inaugural Asian Touring Series event held at the Yatabe Arena in Japan as part of the grand opening of the extension to the World famous r/c facility. Top Qualifiers of their respective classes Volker and Laptev backed up their wins in the opening A-Main with a second win in Leg 2 to become champions of the pilot race that is a precursor to a full multi round ATS series similar to the successful ETS that already runs in Europe.
