Tessmann wins Truggy at ‘The Dirt’

Ty Tessmann has won his second Dirt Nitro Challenge title in Truggy after cruising to a healthy victory at the Fear Farm over Ryan Cavalieri and Adam Drake. Starting from second on the grid the Canadian, who was Truggy Champion in 2010, took the lead of the race when Top Qualifier Ryan Maifield crashed out 8-minutes into the 45-minute final. A spectacular exit for the Associated RC8.2T which veered off the track and ploughed into one of hay bail track markers, the demise of the US National Truggy Champion was discovered afterwards to have been caused by a failure of the steering drag arm.

Tessmann is Top Qualifier at ‘The Dirt’

Ty Tessmann has wrapped up TQ honours for the buggy class at the Dirt Nitro Challenge. Having set the fastest time in Q1, the Canadian ace again set the pace in the second of the three qualifiers, this time going fastest ahead young TLR star Dakotah Phend, to secure his first pole position start at Joey Christensen’s annual signature event. The 19-year-old factory Hot Bodies driver, who is a former Champion of the event in Truggy, said he had a little problem with traffic which caused him trouble in the woops section but otherwise he was really happy with the performance of his OS powered D8. With pole position for Sunday’s final in the bag, Tessmann will sit out the third qualifier and enjoy an early night while the his rivals battle it out for the other positions on the grid in tonight’s final qualifier which is not set to end until some time after 12pm here in Arizona.

Keven Hebert returns to ETS

Factory Team Associated driver Keven Hebert is set to make a return to the Yokomo Euro Touring Series when he travels to the Spanish holiday island of Gran Canaria next weekend (March 2-4) to contest round three of the world famous electric touring car championship. Having made his ETS debut in Austria last year where he made the A-Main finishing 9th overall, the Canadian who is a leading figure in the US racing scene will once again join forces with factory Associated team-mate Juho Levanen.

Tessmann TQs first buggy qualifier

In a repeat of his yesterday’s Truggy qualifying Hot Bodies’ Ty Tessmann has TQ’d the opening round of Buggy qualifying at the Dirt Nitro Challenge at the Fear Farm in Phoenix, Arizona. The Canadian set a pace of 11 laps in 7:33.947 to top the first of three rounds by one & a half seconds over TLR’s Adam Drake and World Champion Cody King.

Maifield is ‘Dirt’ Truggy Top Qualifier

Team Associated’s Ryan Maifield is the Truggy Top Qualifier at the Dirt Nitro Challenge backing up his Q2 performance with another TQ run in Q3 to claim pole position for Saturday’s 1/2 hour final. The final qualifier saw the US Champion set the pace from team-mate Ryan Cavalieri with TLR’s Adam Drake third.

Tessmann tops Q1 at Dirt Nitro Challenge

Hot Bodies’ Ty Tessmann has topped the opening round of Truggy qualifying at the Dirt Nitro Challenge in Phoenix, Arizona, the 19-year-old setting the pace by just over half a second from TLR’s Adam Drake with Associated’s Ryan Maifield third. Moving this year to the Fear Farm, this is the 10th running of the signature event of world famous track builder Joey ‘The Dirt’ Christensen with a record 700 entries set to race 4 class on three tracks over the next four days.

Lee Martin confirmed for Belgian EOS encounter

Having been forced to miss the opening round of the inaugural TLR/Spektrum Euro Offroad Series presented by Horizon Hobby due to 1:8 Offroad commitments, Tamiya Racing Factory’s Lee Martin has confirmed his entry for the second encounter of the exciting new 1:10 electric offroad series that will take place in Belgium over the weekend of March 9-11. The current back to back European 2WD & British 4WD Champion will go head to head with factory driver line-ups from TLR and Team Durango on the indoor astroturf track in Charleroi where he will be aiming to deny Jörn Neumann a repeat of his domination of the opening race in the Czech Republic last weekend. 2012 JConcepts Clash – Announcement

For 2012 the JConcepts Clash is going Indoors to the Flowood, Indoor R/C park in Flowood, Mississippi on the weekend of September 21-23, 2012. A large building and track operated by super promoter Bubba Barham equals big-time Clash action. The 6th annual event will take place on a newly built indoor race course at the Flowood R/C park and will be specifically built for this annual event. With the uniqueness of the Clash, special considerations are always made to the layout, making it both electric and nitro friendly; rest assured your vehicle of choice will be tested. A 125’x100’ Indoor track is easily among the largest in the world and contains one of the best indoor racing surfaces in existence.
