2014 1/8th offroad Worlds to Messina

2014 1/8th offroad Worlds go to Messina

With the 2012 IFMAR World Championships for 1/8th offroad in Argentina still over a year away, the venue for the 2014 running of the event has already been decided with Messina in Italy getting the vote. The decision was made at this weekend’s EFRA AGM which takes place in Brussels with Messina, located on the island of Sicily, getting the approval by a margin of 3 votes over runner up Germany. Messina previously held the IFMAR 1/8th onroad World Championships in 2005 the scene of Lamberto Collari’s 7th World title.

Volker pulls off perfect start to ETS title defence

Team Yokomo’s lead driver Ronald Volker pulled off the perfect weekend to claim an early victory at the opening round of the 2011/12 Yokomo Euro Touring Series in Mülheim-Kärlich, Germany. Starting from pole, the German ace backed up his win of the first A-Main with an even more dominant performance in the second to secure the overall win.

Volker dominates first ETS A-Main

Reigning Yokomo Euro Touring Series champion Ronald Volker looks set to be on target to make the perfect start to his title defence with the Top Qualifier dominating the opening A-Main in Mülheim-Kärlich, Germany.  Setting the fastest lap of the 5-minute encounter, the factory Yokomo driver took the win by over 5 seconds from the Tamiya’s of Marc Rheinard and Viktor Wilck who both struggled to match his pace.

Volker is Top Qualifier for ETS season opener

Team Yokomo’s Ronald Volker is Top Qualifier for the opening round of the 2011/12 Yokomo Euro Touring Series.  Having TQ’d the opening two qualifiers in Germany, the reigning champion laid claim to his sixth ETS pole position when he topped Q3 with a new fastest time. The German once again outpaced the Tamiya of Marc Rheinard with Xray’s Alexander Hagberg enjoying his best round to set the third fastest time.

Perfect start to ETS campaign for Volker

Team Yokomo’s Ronald Volker has got his 2011/12 Yokomo Euro Touring Series campaign off to the best start possible by backing up his pace in practice with a TQ run in the opening round of qualifying in Germany tonight.  The defending champion took the first of the four scheduled qualifiers by 2/10th of a second from Tamiya’s Marc Rheinard with Viktor Wilck third.

Defending champion Ronald Volker has set the pace in the opening timed practice at the season opener of the 2011/12 Yokomo Euro Touring Series, the Yokomo ace fastest over three laps from his great rival and last season’s runner-up Marc Rheinard with Xray’s Alexander Hagberg third fastest.

JJ Wang wins Beijing Invitational Race

The Chinese government held the first annual Beijing International RC Invitational race recently in Beijing and it was the largest race in China’s R/C history. Overall 100 drivers in two classes EP and GP raced on a world-class racetrack built specially for this event. The government invited many renowned drivers from around the world including former world champions. Novarossi team driver JJ Wang drove his Novarossi powered Mugen MTX5 to win the GP championship on a damp track caused by light rain during the final day. Shepherd driver Ronald Volker came in second with Kyosho’s Takaaki Shimo taking third.
