Jimmy Maddison wins IIC Stock class

Jimmy Maddison wins IIC Stock class

Schumacher are very pleased with their performance at last weekend IIC event with Jimmy Maddison (UK) and Alan Hewitt (USA) taking 1st and 2nd in the Stock Rubber Sedan class, with Maddison having TQ’d the class. Their Mi3 was also at the top of its game in the 19T Rubber Class with class TQ Randy Caster coming home in 2nd, Jimmy Madison in 4th and 4th qualifier Alan Hewitt in 6th and Foam guru Chris Goetz also took 4th in the Stock Foam A main.

But the REAL story of the race was an astounding display of teamwork and cooperation in the Schumacher pits. As UK team member Jimmy Maddison was struggling with his primary car just an hour before his qualifier, the US team as a whole decided to “team build” his backup kit for him. The team members went to work, and in a flurry of activity they completed the car for him just minutes before his qualifier. Madison then went on to take TQ of the class with that qualifying round! This kind of team effort, friendly attitude and helpfulness were displayed throughout the event, and no single action could do more to personify exactly what it means to be a part of TEAM Schumacher.

International Indoor Championships – Results

 International Indoor Championships - Results

Last weekend saw the International Indoor Championships, or IIC as its better known, take place in Las Vegas with the event attracting the best EP drivers in the World. The race was open for 1/10th scale touring car and 1/12th scale with different classes for rubber and foam in the touring class as well as Modified, 19T and Stock in each scale, in total there were 8 classes. The blue ribboned events are the modified classes which attract the most factory drivers and in 1/12th Mod it was current European Champion Andy Moore, racing the new Cyclone 12, that dominated proceedings taking the pole position and in the final the win, coming home ahead of German driver Marc Rheinard in 2nd and top US driver Josh Cyrul in 3rd. In the TC Mod Rubber class it was Xray racer Paul LeMieux that claimed the TQ but in the final he was outpaced by former World Champion Marc Rheinard racing for Tamiya, Paul came home 2nd with another former World Champion Atsushi Hara, racing for Hot Bodies, in 3rd. The TC Mod Foam class saw the pole position go to Corally driver Chris Tosolini, but once more the pole man lucked out and it was Xray driver Teemu Leino that came through to take the win ahead of Tosolini in 2nd with another Xray, that of Paul LeMieux, in 3rd. There was plenty of great close racing in the other classes and you can see all the A-main results below.

2007 IFMAR 1/8th scale Worlds - Preview

Argentina is the host country for the 2007 IFMAR 1/8th scale World Championships and as the elite of the RC World descend on the country’s 2nd city, Cordoba, we bring you our event preview.

This year’s event takes place on a recently completed track at the Complejo Ferial Cordoba, the same venue as used by the Argentinean round of World Rally Championships. Favourite for this years event has to be the 7-time World Champion Lamberto Collari of Italy, the Kyosho driver will be trying to further cement his legendary RC status with an 8th IFMAR World title. Lamberto was present at the warm-up race in March but despite a good qualifying he had radio problems in the final, which meant he retired after only 50 laps, a problem I’m sure that will be sorted in time for this year’s main event.
