Loran Whiting teams up with Serpent

Serpent have announced the signing of female U.S. racer, Loran Whiting to their team. Loran will focus on 1/10th scale nitro and electric racing but she will also campaign Serpent’s 1/8th on-road cars and 1/10th buggies at selected events. The former Capricorn racer had the following to say about the deal:

 I am incredibly lucky and thankful to be given the opportunity to race with Serpent. They are a world-class company with a great team. I am confident that we will be successful and I am looking forward to all of the great and fun times!  Thank you to Ronald, Michael, Stef, and Paolo for the support!

Alessio Menicucci wins Italian Outdoor Modified TC title

The recent 2016 UISP Italian National Outdoor Championship was held at the Ca’ de Mandorli track in San Lazzaro di Savena, Italy. Unsteady weather conditions made things pretty eventful and in the Touring Modified class, it was Xray’s Alessio Menicucci who made the best out of the conditions, taking the TQ from Mattia Collina (Xray) and Michele Romagnoli (WRC). After the A-main, the top 3 results would remain the same with Alessio taking the win and the title from runner-up, Mattia with Michele completing the podium result in third. Thanks to the good results Xray also became the manufacturer champion in the Modified class.

Mike Fisk doubles at JBRL Electric Series Rd4

Round four of the Jimmy Babcock Racing League was held at OCRC Raceway in Huntington Beach, California. Currently home of the world-famous Reedy Off-Road Race of Champions the facility hosted race 4 of the JBRL Electric Series that saw Mike Fisk (Team Associated) taking double wins in 13.5T and 17.5T Buggy after also obtaining the TQs in both categories. Shawn Blackwell Sr. (TLR) and Johnathan Schultz (Team Associated) would sideline Mike on the 13.5T podium while Austin Pannone (Team Associated) and Justin Watson (TLR) would accompany Mike on the 17.5T podium.

WRC Contest Sicily – Announcement

WRC have announced the WRC Contest Sicily for the weekend of the 9th of July. Held at the La Pinetina track the event will see the running of Touring Modified, 13.5T and 17.5T classes as well as a Formula category with the mandatory tyre for the touring cars being the WRC TS03 while the Formula class will run on the company’s new P-One rubber.

Oliver Speith wins West German EP Buggy regionals Rd2

The second round of the West German Electric Off-road regionals was hosted by the MC Dortmund club over the weekend. Saturday’s practice was washed away by the ever present rain with the Sunday starting out wet and cloudy but the newly-built astro turf track would soon start to dry and in time for the finals even the sun would come out. In the 2WD Buggy class, Oliver Speith would take home the winning honours, coming from the 2 spot on the grid.

Ahmet Kasap scores at Team NCRC Stock Cup finale

The final round of the Team NCRC Stock Cup was held at the club’s own 1000 square metres carpet indoor track. In the Touring Stock class Ahmet Kasap lead an all-Xray podium with Niyazi Deniz and Umut Oztumen coming in second and third respectively. Aktug Kalcay and Adnan Kanat (both Xray) completed the top 5 result.

Ziga Pajek successful at TDM Race Rd1

The first round of the TopRC Dirt Masters were held in Blatni dol, Slovenia after the first two attempts to hold the race were spoiled by the weather conditions. In the 1/8th E-Buggy class the overall TQ went to Ziga Pajek (Xray) who took the two opening qualifiers in front of Andraz Stefe (Xray) and Nejc Orazem (Mugen). The A-main then saw Ziga conserving his qualifying performance, taking wins in A1 and A2 to grab the overall victory early. Dejan Cigler (HB Racing) came in second, Nejc Orazem had to settle for third after some close battles.

Fabien Valantin sweeps League 9 championship round

A round of the French League 9 championship was recently held in Beaumont-Monteux. Fabien Valantin would make a clean sweep by taking the TQ, win and fastest lap from Julien Jost and Patrice Carpano in second and third respectively. Briac Berthoud and Walter Pollet-Villard rounded out the top 5 result.
