This weekend’s Pierrefeu GP saw Renaud Savoya taking his maiden win for new chassis sponsor Hot Bodies. After the mains had to be cancelled due to rainy weather conditions the qualifying results were taken to determine the final results which saw Yannick Aigoin ending the weekend on the runner-up spot driving a Team Associated prototype buggy while UK’s Darren Bloomfield (Agama) rounded out the podium in 3rd.

Following the release of some photos on Facebook by the Frenchman himself, Team HB have finally confirmed that 3-time European Champion Reno Savoya will be joining their off-road racing team. A multiple Worlds Main Finalist, 3-time European Champion, multiple French National Champion and regular feature on podiums at major races around the world. The 27-year old racing star, nicknamed ‘The Shark, will bring an abundance of racing experience, knowledge and racing prowess to the team, thanks to his many years of being a professional racer.
Im delighted to join Team HB! For the last several years, HB products have had much success. This is a great opportunity for me to join such a successful company and team. The latest Team HB achievements are incredible, and Im really motivated to bring more success to Team HB in Europe in the next 4 years! I will of course race the D812, D8T Tessmann Edition and the D413. The first race is really soon, as I am racing my HB D812 this weekend for the first time in Pierrefeu for the Grand Prix, I cant wait!
Reno, together with new signing David Ronnefalk, current World Champion Ty Tessmann and the entire HB factory and R&D team will help continue to develop and improve HB racing cars for more race wins and championships, not just for themselves but for all HB racers. The Muchmore Volante Cup was held at the TRC race track in Hong Kong with around 80 drivers in attendance. In the Touring Car Modified class Stick King (Awesomatix) took the TQ but in the A-main it was Hay (Xray) who came out successful in front of Simon Yeung (Schumacher) and Rocky Wong (Yokomo). Stick King fall back to 4th place while Nuno (Xray) rounded out the top 5 result.

Having just been announced as joining Team HB, former Kyosho racer and back to back reigning European Champion David Ronnefalk sat down and answered some questions we put to him about his new deal, racing career and his thoughts on his new rides. Capricorn have announced that Rico Kröber and Christian Wurst have joined the Italian company for the 2015 season. Rico has made the move after being with Xray for four years. Rico will race the company’s C802 1/8th and C03 1/10th 200mm chassis is his upcoming campaign. This is what Rico has to say about the deal:
I am glad to get the chance from Patrizio to Race in 2015 the new C-03 and also the C802. But I also have to say thank you to the Hudy family for the support during the last 5 years. Now I’m looking forward for the new season with my new team and my new cars.

The German Open Indoor Masters was held as part of the Faszination Modellbau fair in Friedrichshafen in the three classes of 1/8th Nitro On-road, 1/10th Nitro On-road and Electric On-road Bikes. In the 1/10th 200mm class Melvin Diekmann took the TQ from Tom Krägefski in 2nd and Traugott Schär in 3rd spot. In the final it was Thilo Tödtmann who came out successful from TQ Melvin Diekmann in 2nd and Marco Kaufmann who rounded out the podium in 3rd and who also scored the fastest lap of the racec in his first ever nitro event.

After the great success of this year’s pilot race the HotRace Cup will come back even bigger in 2015. Taking place on the weekend of the 26th of July the 2015 race will be hosted by the Riccione Road Race track located only 500 metres away from the famous Riccione seafront, offering many opportunities to have fun, relax and enjoy a weekend in Italy. The event will again be accompanied by a beach party and also see the introduction of the all-new S-Hot Race and a Formula class. More details and a dedicated website will follow soon.
Following their statement to dissolve their Pro racing team Team Durango now announce the split from the team’s front runner Jörn Neumann and designer Gerd Strenge. All parties will continue to work together during their notice period but it is also agreed to allow an early release to a new sponsor if that is required by either of them.
