Volker secures TQ for first ETS Indoor encounter

Fresh from his win ahead of Bruno Coelho and Christopher Krapp at the EWS International in the UK last weekend, Ronald Volker has carried that form on carpet into the first ETS Indoor encounter of the season by securing the overall TQ for Round 5 in Germany today. The Mugen driver secured pole position from longest standing rival Marc Rheinard with both drivers enjoying two TQ runs each from the four qualifiers. With Volker taking the opening round, this would prove to be the fastest round giving him the tie breaker. Behind the two Germans, ETS Luxembourg winner Lucas Urbain will start the finals from 3rd ahead of the factory Yokomo pairing of Yannic Prumper and Krapp.

Maifield signs for Tekno RC

Confirmation of Ryan Maifield’s much anticipated switch to Tekno RC has just been confirmed with the American manufacturer announcing they are, “pleased to welcome Ryan Maifield to the factory team. Ryan is well known in RC racing as his long list of achievements speaks for itself. From the many world and national championships, to the dozens and dozens of major event wins, he has proven time and again why he is considered to be one of the best drivers to ever compete in RC. Ryan has incredible talent, vast knowledge of RC cars, and a large network of sponsors and fans who support him. Combined with his unique approach to racing, he has a competitive edge that fuels his strong desire to win. Like many of the greats, he is well-versed in 1/8th and 1/10th scale off-road racing disciplines. We’ll be working closely with him to refine our current products and to develop new vehicles for our valued customers to enjoy. We can’t help but be excited for the 2023 racing season!!” On the announcement Maifield said, “I’m excited to be a part of the Tekno program!! I have driven the vehicles and have been very impressed with the speed, adjustability, and quality of the products. After spending some time with the crew behind the scenes, I was able to see how much commitment and passion goes into these vehicles.”

Mazzeo departs Serpent

Alessio Mazzeo has announced his departure from Serpent. Having rejoined the manufacturer at the start of 2020 after a stint with Xray, indications the partnership that netted second place at the 2016 1:10 Nitro World Championship were in trouble surfaced when the Italian didn’t turn up in Thailand as expected for the latest 1:10 World Championships. On his Facebook page Mazzeo said, ‘I will never be your rival and always a fan of the brand. Thank you for everything and all the best for the future. I will continue to push over my limit to follow my dream. Thank you Serpent, thank you guys. Vi voglio bene. Ciao ciao. Alessio.”

Dominic Vogl joins Team Yokomo

Team Yokomo has announced Dominic Vogl as a new member of their international touring car team, the Austrian a leading driver in the touring car stock category. Returning to racing after a few months of a break, he will drive the BD11 when he make his official team debut at this weekend’s ETS race in Germany. Commenting on joining Yokomo Vogl said, “First and foremost, I want to thank Toni Rheinard for the exclusive opportunity to run whatever chassis I preferred in the past years. Many thanks for this unique support since years! After a small RC break for me in the last months, I received the great chance to join the Yokomo factory team and I couldn’t be happier that everything came together that fast. I want to thank Yokomo, especially Christopher Krapp and Yannic Prümper, which are as well great friends off the track to put the trust in me. For sure I am motivated more than ever before to help the team achieving great results! My first race will be the ETS already this weekend, and I am really looking forward to it with my brand new BD11!”

JConcepts INS13 | NCTS5 date announcements

The JConcepts 1/10th scale off-road series are back in 2023 with the INS13 and NCTS5 dirt and carpet/turf series. The schedule should look familiar with the addition of RC One Raceway with their new carpet surface on the NCTS calendar to start the year. The NCTS Series will remain a 4-race shootout with the INS series staying with 5 races. The JConcepts events provide drivers with an array of classes to choose from to compete nationally or on a race-by-race basis. How the racer choses to participate is up to them. However, rest assured, knowing the locations, dates, and facilities have been carefully selected for the ultimate 1/10th off-road experience.

VP Pro has introduced a new ’22 model rear wing for 1:8 Offroad. The WN-010 wing is the result of taking on feedback from racers to come up with one that enables the car to maintain high cornering speeds while maintaining stability. The injection mold increases durability, allowing the wing to maintain its shape throughout its use. The IFMAR complaint wing is available in White and Black finish.
