Team Associated RC10 Team Car Gold Edition Kit

Continuing its series of re-releases of RC10 kits, Team Associated has announced the Team Car Gold Edition Kit of its iconic 1:10 2WD Buggy.  Originally released back in 1990, the RC10 Team Car was an upgraded version of the base model RC10 Championship Edition (6011), which was also released that same year.  The RC10 Team Car was the latest state-of-the-art, 2WD off-road racing buggy in the world and was the first RC10 to feature the Stealth ATC Transmission, hard anodised shocks with PTFE coating, and updated suspension geometry.  At the 1990 Off-Road ROAR Nationals, Team Associated finished 1st, 2nd, and 3rd using these new parts. Cliff Lett took first place at the Nationals, which didn’t surprise anyone, but the big surprise was Brent Wallace and J.D. Beckwith, both who finished 2nd and 3rd at the very first race using the new Stealth transmission.  There were many similar reports of equal success from racers all around the world after using the Stealth transmission in their older RC10’s.  Later, some of these parts would eventually be included in the RC10 Team Car kit.

JConcepts 1:8 Double Decker Spring Box w/Foam Inserts

Another new storage box from JConcepts to assist in racer organisation is this 1:8 Double Decker Spring Box w/Foam Inserts.  The double decker design stores up to 10 pairs of springs plus 2 added compartments on each layer for miscellaneous items.  The injection molded box itself has been in the JConcepts line-up for years assisting in motor and battery storage with a nice closure and stealth black colour combination.  The box now makes a nice and tidy space with high density foam layered with compartmentalised section and blue floor space to aid in a visual cue to identify springs quickly.  The package includes a decal for the inside of the lid for the racer to write in notes, combinations, spring rate and type, to further trackside organisation.  The spring box is ideal for 1:10 offroad, and onroad racers looking to tuck away their setup secrets and keep them protected in style.

JConcepts Razor pre-trimmed polycarbonate 1:8 Wing

JConcepts has introduced the Razor polycarbonate pre-trimmed wing featuring a brand-new design mimicking the injection molded Razor as closely as possible.  With wing development serious business, JConcepts has responded with a technically advanced alternative for 1:8 racing with the Razor polycarbonate incorporating a multi-height layout which allows the wing to sit in a lower stance and the centre section allows the included centre divider to be added as another tuning option.  The pre-trimmed 1.5mm polycarbonate wing formed in heavy-duty material includes a pre-trimmed centre divider together in the same package. The wing is refined with taller side-dams, and taller rear gurney with trim lines and dimples finished on the part.  Angular sections blend nicely into the high-performance shape giving a location for that initial step and transition to the wing’s gurney position.  At the base of the wing rests the “fangs” that have become so popular on the 1:10 offroad carpet | turf | dirt wing.  A large individual rib which supports the wing’s upper section as it transitions to the gurney is placed in the centre.

Tekno RC ET48 2.2 1:8 Electric Truggy

US offroad kit manufacturer Tekno RC has announced the release of its ET48 2.2, the latest evolution of their 1:8 electric truggy lineup.  Over three years in development, the ET48 2.2 has been rigorously tested on tracks across the United States and Europe to ensure peak performance and reliability.  This fourth-generation update builds on the legacy of the ET48 platform, originally introduced in 2013, incorporating valuable feedback from team drivers and customers.  The ET48 2.2 stays true to Tekno RC’s tradition of delivering enhanced performance, predictability, and durability.  Upgraded to full 2.2 chassis specifications, the truggy shares near-complete compatibility with the latest EB48 2.2 and NB48 2.2 buggies, ensuring flexibility and parts commonality for racers.  The ET48 2.2 now comes standard with lightened 7075 CNC machined shock towers, improving weight balance and agility.  Full universal driveshafts, including new 140mm rear universal driveshafts, enhance consistency across all conditions.  The updated precision-molded shock pistons and guides, revised Ackermann spindle plates, and adjustable sway bar bushings further refine the truggy’s handling and stability.  The chassis plate has been redesigned to support 4S shorty battery packs and accommodate the new rear pivot braces, making the ET48 2.2 a versatile powerhouse on the track or in the backyard.  Other standard new components include revised front and rear A-arms, -2mm bulkheads, and the 2.2 spec differential parts.

Nicholson defends Australian title on Schumacher debut

Less than two weeks after the announcement he had switched from Yokomo to Schumacher, Simon Nicholson has successfully defended his Australian Modified Touring Car National Champion title on his first race for the British manufacturer.  Hosted by the Templestowe Flat Track Racers club in Melbourne, the 2024 RCRA EP OnRoad Australian Championships attracted 170 entries including an interesting international competitor in Xray’s Alexander Hagberg, the Swede making the trip Down Under to complete in both Touring Car and 1:12.  In qualifying it would be ARC’s Brayden Stanley who TQ’d the first of the three rounds.  Q2 would see Nicholson hit the top before Serpent’s Jeff Hamon was fastest in Q3 ahead of RC Maker’s Ryan Maker.  After a DNF in the opening round, Hagberg’s best run would be in Q2 when he posted the second fastest which with his P6 in the final round left him 5th overall.  Unfortunately wet weather would put an end to the action with Sunday a complete wash out and the titles awarded on the results of qualifying giving Nicholson the title ahead of Stanley with Hamon completing the podium.  In 13.5 Stock Touring Car Lincoln Codd took the title while having TQ’d all three rounds Hagberg took the 1:12 title.
