The Coup de France race was held in Evry over the weekend, attracting some of the country’s fastest nitro on-road drivers. Ini the 1/10th 200mm class it was Kevin Rasquin with the TQ from Basile Concialdi in 2nd. In the 45-minute A-main it was Basile who would hold the upper hand, bringing home the win by three laps in front of Kevin. Clement Bioy would round out the top 3 result another three laps down.

The third and final round of the Indonesian 1/10th Electric On-road National Championship was held at East RC Speedway this past weekend. Weather was great all day and in the primary Touring Modified class it was points standing leader Bowie Ginting who looked the TQ spot after the qualifiers. Arya Seta started from the 2nd spot while Christian Mamesah had to settle for 3rd after the qualifiers. After the triple A-mains the top 3 order would remain the same as Bowie went on to win A1 and A3 for the overall as Arya came out on top in A2 to secure himself the 2nd overall position. With this result Bowie took the overall championship as Chandra Yosef snatched the vice-championship.
Round 1 of the 2018/19 Winter Points Series was held at P&T Hobbies in Indiana. In the 2WD Modified Buggy class it was JP Richards with the TQ and win from Galen McCreary on the 2 spot. The podium was rounded out by RC legend Brian Dunbar who recently came back out of retirement.

The TSAR track near Toulouse played host to last weekend’s final round of the French 1/8th Nitro Buggy Championship. The race for the overall TQ was a very entertaining one with three different top qualifiers in four rounds. Ultimately it was TLR’s Renaud Savoya with the overall and he would also start from pole position into the 45-minute A-main event. In the opening lap however Renaud made a mistake, leaving Team Associated’s Tom Robin as well as Xray’s Yannick and Jerome Aigoin battling for the lead. Savoya eventually recovered to take the top spot again only to run in mechanical issues in the later stages of the race that cost him a lap. From there he suffered with pace which allowed Tom Robin to take the lead in the closing stages and to take the win from Jerome and Yannick. Renaud ended the race on the 4 spot which was enough for him to take the overall championship title.

The 9th edition of the annual Charity Race will be held at the RC Landia carpet track in Scandiano, Italy on the weekend of the 24th and 25th of November. The 2018 edition will see the running of Touring Modified, Touring Stock, Formula and 1/12th Pan Car classes and beside the fastest Italian electric on-road racers, European Pro drivers such as Marc Rheinard, Alexander Hagberg, Ronald Völker, and Marco Kaufman will make an appearance. Due to the limited pit space the entries are capped off at 120 drivers with the first Pro drivers having already signed up. This year’s race will be held on a brand new ETS carpet using Volante ETS tyres for the touring and formula classes. Like the years before, the organisers Team La Gang will hold a charity lottery for the good cause. ORCA have announced the signing of Dutch on-road frontrunner, Jilles Groskamp to their factory team. The former IFMAR Electric Touring World Champion and long-time Team Orion factory driver will use ORCA brushless motors, speed controllers and batteries from now on while also helping with the development of future products. The Thailand-based joins another spearhead of the electric touring car scene, Akio Sobue, who signed with ORCA in July.

Round 4 of the Spanish Electric On-road Nationals was held at the Villarreal track last weekend. The event saw the running of the three classes of Touring Modified, Touring Stock and Formula. In the popular Touring Stock class it was Richard Rioja with the overall TQ from Luis Enrique Carrasco. With two wins in the opening two A-mains however it was Luis Enrique who hold the upper hand with his Awesomatix from Awesomatix team mate David Rebollo. Xray’s Richard Rioja had to settle for 3rd overall.

The TLR Cup West was held at Tacoma RC Raceway in Tacoma, Washington recently, attracting over 150 entires. In the 2WD Modified Buggy class it was TLR’s Dakotah Phend with the TQ and win from Team Associated’s Harley Yoshii on the 2 spot. Harley would be successful in A1, however Dakotah stroke back in A2 and A3 for the overall, leaving behind Yoshii in 2nd as Schumacher driver Mikey Brown rounded out the top 3 results.
