Marc Valero wins Catalonia Pro10 Champs Rd2

The second round of the Catalonia Pro10 Championship was held at the Rubí track this past weekend. In the Modified class Marc Valero took the overall TQ and he would also walk away with the day’s win after some very close A-mains. Jaime Lacuesta would take the runner-up spot at round two with Sergio Lacuesta coming in 3rd.

Adrian Santeiro wins Spanish 1/8th on-road opener

The opening round of the Spanish 1/8th Nitro On-road Nationals Championship was held at the Paco Lobo track in Sevilla in the South of the country. Mixed weather made things challenging for the competitors with Ruben Olivares making the best out of the conditions, taking the TQ and pole position for Sunday’s main final. After winning the Superpole race, Victor Gonzalez (Infinity) placed himself on the 2 spot on the grid. After the semifinals, held in damp conditions, Adrian Santeiro, Carlos Peracho, Alvaro Fernández, Sergio Montesinos, Iñaki Otero, Victor Pelaez, Alberto Alonso and Manuel Cendán proceeded to the 45-minute main final that was ultimately won by Adrian Santeiro (Infinity) with Sergio Montesinos (Shepherd) coming in second and Victor Gonzalez ending the day on the 3 spot.

Noah Dickerson wins Pro Buggy at Ice Breaker

The 2017 Ice Breaker was held in Garland, Texas and in the Pro Nitro Buggy class it was Noah Dickerson who walked away with the win. Coming from the 2 spot on the grid, Noah lead from lap 13 to lap 90 but two flamouts of Noah’s buggy in the pits would promote Tyler Hooks into the lead that he would hold onto until the final lap when Noah was able to strike back and to take the win from Tyler in second and Jake Dellinger third.

Derek McCloskey takes double Winter Champs title

The Irish Navan Nitro Club Winter Championship recently concluded and it was Derek McCloskey who took the overall win in the Nitro and E-Buggy classes. The title in E-Buggy was secured earlier in the Championship after taking victory in six of the first eight rounds but it took till the final round for Derek to secure the Nitro championship, after an epic race seeing three racers fight it out in the last final of the season with the winner taking the race win and the top spot in the championship.

Adam Drake sweeps 2017 Ice Breaker

The 2017 Ice Breaker was held at Indy RC World In Garland, Texas with the event being sold out with 250 entries. Adam Drake was the top qualifier in Nitro Buggy and Electric Buggy and on the second lap of the 45 minute truck final he took the lead and never looked back taking the victory by nearly one lap. Adam also won the electric 1/8th buggy class, bringing home two titles.

Capricorn welcome back Marc Fischer

Capricorn have announced the return of German frontrunner, Marc Fischer to their electric on-road racing team. After reaching the World Championship A-main in Beijing last August, Marc is ready to be back working together with the Italian company, racing and developing the TE-03 Evo platform through to 2018. Marc has the following to say about the deal:

I want to thank VBC, Victor Law and Carven for the short but good times. Now i am really looking forward to return to Capricorn after the A Main at the Worlds in China. I really want to thank Patrizio Rossi for the chance he gave me to race for him and for Capricorn one more time. My First Race with the TE-03 will be the ETS in Madrid, follow by the Euros, Reedy Race and all other ETS Races which will follow. I signed a contract until 2018 Worlds in South Africa, so I will have the time to prepare and am really happy about it.

Swauger, Burch & De Soto win at Hudy GP

The Hudy GP was held at the GLARC track in Los Angeles over the weekend. The 1/8th class final saw a close battle between Mike Swauger and JJ Wang until a costly mistake by the Chinese-American driver gave some breathing room to Mike, who capitalised and started working to keep the lead until the checkered flag.
