Associated RC10B6.4CC Collector’s Clear Edition Kit

To commemorate one of the most successful 2WD buggy platforms in history, Team Associated has announced the B6.4CC Collector’s Clear Edition Kit. This kit offers RC collectors the ability to build the world’s most successful 1:10 scale buggy platform in iconic polycarbonate clear material. This clear car edition includes +3mm chassis layout, 11mm Octalock LCF slipper clutch, steel ESC weights, servo weights, front and rear anti-roll bars, and other great features you remember from the RC10B6.4. The B6.4CC is designed for optimal build experience, and this clear car edition kit is a true gem for both collectors and racers alike. Team Associated have pointed out that while clear parts are stronger than SLA and could be driven, it was manufactured as a display piece for your collection. The polycarbonate clear components will only be available in the kit and will not be sold individually.

JConcepts adds Orlowski to team line-up

Further bolstering its team with European drivers, American brand JConcepts Inc. has added top Offroad and Onroad star Michal Orlowski to its 2024 race team. The 22-year-old Polish racer has one of the busiest travel schedules of a Pro Racer flying the world racing one of the largest assortment of classes in the business. The current European 1:10 4WD Buggy Champion and 4WD podium finisher at the recent IFMAR Worlds Arizona, Orlowski has used JConcepts body shells and aero products on his Schumacher Racing cars over the years and with the brand now looking forward to his input as they will look to optimise their products for the latest vehicles. JConcepts boss Jason Ruona said, “We are excited for this opportunity to bring on Michal Orlowski to our world-wide racing team. I’ve followed his racing since the beginning of his career and watched as he’s become one of the most versatile drivers in the world. One of the first orders of business, to bring more selection of items to market for the Schumacher off-road vehicles to further enhance options for some of the top performing vehicles in the market.” Orlowski added, “I am thrilled to announce my partnership with JConcepts. Vision Racing SC6.4 Carbon Fibre Chassis

Oregon based performance racing accessories producer Vision Racing has released a new carbon fibre chassis as part of its range for Team Associated cars up with the addition of one for the SC6.4 Short Course truck. The standard length carbon chassis features optional battery configurations so that you can run it traditional or go inline. This chassis reduces the weight of the truck by an impressive 60 grams. The kit includes includes the chassis, side braces, aluminium nose plate, battery braces, aluminium stand offs and mounting hardware.

JConcepts signs Canas

JConcepts has announced the signing of European 1:8 Buggy Champion Juan Carlos Canas to its 2024 race team. The 21-year-old Spaniard is the current European Champion in both the Nitro and E-Buggy classes and finished on the podium place at the 2022 IFMAR World Championship. Joining JConcepts after his deoarture from Hotrace Tyres, he bolsters the American brands team line-up heading into this IFMAR World Championship year which takes in Sao Paulo City, Brazil, in September. Company founder Jason Rouna said, “I’ve witnessed Juan racing the world circuit for many years and have always marveled at the speed and ability. We are constantly trying to improve our product, with this addition, we want to push our range further than ever before.” Commenting on the announcement Canas stated, “I’m happy to join JConcepts. I’ve been a fan of their products for a long-time. The style of their body shells and aero items is incredible. There are so many different tires and compounds to choose from, I’m excited to get to know the options and work with the team.” The Sworkz driver will make his debut with JConcepts at the up coming 2024 Montpellier GP in France.

Dankel and Greiner join Hobbywing

In a busy week of driver announcements from Hobbywing, the World Champion ESC and motor manufacturer has added German duo Eric Dankel and Dominic Greiner to its 2024 Modified Touring Car team line-up. Both drivers come from successful nitro onroad backgrounds with Dankel having made a successful transition to electric touring in recent years while 2024 will see former 1:10 Nitro World Champion Greiner start his first competitive season in electric racing. Having used Hobbywing last season in his Mugen Seiki, 2024 sees Dankel move to Awesomatix as well as become an official Hobbywing team driver. Returning to Serpent for his electric debut, having announced he would be using Nosram batteries the Hobbywing deal completes Greiner’s race package for this new chapter in his racing career.

Manzo46, the brand of top Swiss Touring Car racer Michele Manzo, has released a ‘Simple Tweak Station’ as a very accurate and simple way to tweak your car. There are a lot of systems to do the tweak but Manzo46 has created a very easy way to do it just by reading numbers. You don’t have to estimate the value, you see the numbers on the scales. It also has the advantage that you can use the scales for any other needs in the pits with them able to support the weight of up to 500g in 0.01g readings. The very compact design means you don’t need big space in to store it.

Eldridge wins EWS third round

The popular UK based EWS reach the mid stage of the 2023/24 Championship over the weekend with Xray’s Harley Eldridge becoming the third different winner in as many races. In qualifying it was the Schumacher of Elliot Harper who took the TQ topping 3 of the four rounds. Fastest in Q3, Eldridge would secure 2nd on the grid ahead of team-mate & defending champion Kyle Branson. In the single A-Main, 1-minute in and Eldridge had the lead from Harper and Branson but Harper, winner of Round 2 just before Christmas, was out on lap 7. Branson would follow him in registering a DNF a few laps later, leaving Eldridge to take a comfortable win over the Schumacher of Matthieu Dambrine and Yokomo’s Alex Thurston. In Pro Stock the Xray of Tony Broad had the perfect race taking the TQ and the win ahead of Billy Fletcher and Sam Nicholls.

Hall wins BRCA British Offroad Masters

Team Associated’s Tommy Hall has won the BRCA British Offroad Masters hosted by the well respected Worksop Radio Car Club in the UK. Run using the famous Reedy Race Format, drivers competed without any qualifying in 5 heads up races first in 2WD before repeating the format again in 4WD. With each driver counting their best 4 results per class, at the end of 2WD it was Schumacher’s Lee Martin who was the points leader notching up 4 wins and a second. Behind, each counting three wins and a second place, it was Martin’s team-mate Michal Orlowski, Team Associated duo Tommy Hall & Neil Cragg and Xray’s Jonny Skidmore all on 5-points. In 4WD, Martin opened well notching up a win but then the former European Champion’s challenge took a hammering as 2022 European Champion Tommy Hall added 4 wins to top the 4WD ranking from Skidmore and secure the overall win on a total of 9-points ahead of Skidmore on 10-points with former World Champion Cragg completing the podium. P3 and P4 after issues with traffic in the closing two races left reigning European Champion Orlowski P4 while after his strong start to the unique Reedy Race format Martin would finish down in 7th.
