Rockstar Winter Off-road Series champions crowned

The final round of the 11th Annual Rockstar Winter Off-road Series was held at PDX Underground in Portland, Oregon last weekend. When the dust had settled it was Andy DiBrino with the overall win in the premier 2WD Mod Buggy class from Joe Pillars on the runner-up spot. Ryan Reavis would complete the overall top 3 result.

Lukas Hoch wins at Czech Nationals warm-up

The warm-up race to the Czech Electric On-road Nationals was held in Jedovnice this past weekend. The weekend kicked off with a 3-hour practice session on Friday night, allowing the driver to get into the groove on the somewhat low-traction track. Racing-wise and in the Formula class it was Lukas Hoch who would win the opening A-main, coming from the 2 spot on the grid, however he had to settle for 2nd place in A2 following an incident with another driver that tweaked Lukas’ car. In A3 Lukas was hot on the heels of leader Simon Horak as Hoch needed to win in order to secure the overall victory and eventually Lukas found away past Simon and was able to stretch the lead, allowing him to take the win and with the the overall from Simon Horak in 2nd and Svetlin Douhlevski in 3rd.

Tristram Neal doubles at EOS opener

The opening round of the Euro Offroad Series was held in Daun, Germany last weekend with a record entry, which promised some tough competition, as well as some problems with the time schedule and late night racing. While Michal Orlowski swept the 2WD and 4WD Modified Buggy classes it was Schumacher’s Tristram Neal with the win in 2WD Stock Buggy from Xray’s Felix Stahmer in 2nd and Team Associated’s Sven Rudig in 3rd. In 4WD Stock Buggy it was again Tristram Neal with the win as Xray’s Simon Stegmeier came in 2nd overall. Schumacher’s Mick Burbach would complete the top 3 podium result.

Eric Anderson wins Stock TC at Snowbird Nats

The 2020 Snowbird Nationals were held in Kissimmee, Florida over the weekend, attracting 310 entries to compete in the usual U.S. mix of modified and stock 1/10th and 1/12th scale classes. In the Touring Stock Can-Am class it was Awesomatix’s Eric Anderson with the overall TQ and the veteran racer would also bring home the win in the single 5-minute A-main event, leaving behind Dave Johnson in 2nd, some three seconds back, as Brian Card completed an all-Awesomatix top 3, only 0.3 second behind Dave.

Hovgaard & Douglas win at RC Kongen Winter Series Rd4

The Danish RC Kongen track held round 4 of their Winter Race series this past weekend. In the 2WD Buggy class it was Yokomo’s Frederik Hovgaard who would walk away with the day’s win from Xray’s Michael Hovgaard in 2nd. Team Associated’s Mathias Douglas came in 3rd to complete the top 3 results. Over in the 4WD Buggy class it was Michael Douglas with the win as Pelle Martin and Oliver Nielsen came in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Ultimate Pro-8X multi-chemistry AC/DC charger

Modelix Racing have introduced the new Ultimate Pro-8X AC/DC multi-chemistry charger. The compact device measures 180x145x57mm and its 80W charge circuitry allows for charge currents of up to 10A. It is usable with up to 6S LiPo packs but also supports NiMH and lead-acid batteries. An orange back-lit display allows for easy monitoring of the battery’s vital signs and an internal balancer ensures maximum safety when charging or discharging LiPo battery packs. The charger is usable with 12VCD or 230VAC input and it is available from now on.

RSRC Treatme traction compound

Coming from Renaud Savoya’s RSRC brand is the are Treatme off-road tyre traction compound. Developed to improve overall grip and traction in low-bite conditions, as they can occur in wet weather, cold temperatures or on an oiled track, the tyre sauce comes in handy on tracks such as the ones in Padova, Reims or Montpellier. The chemical easily penetrated the tyre rubber and lasts for several runs, doing away with the need to soak the tyre before each run. It comes in a handy 150ml spray-on bottle and it is of a low-odour formula.
