Round 5 of the GRC Indoor Masters were held in South Korea this past weekend with Seungjong Lee taking the TQ and win in the competitive Touring FWD class. Byoungwook Park came in 2nd overall as Dohyeok Kwon and Jaegyu Kim completed the top 4 results.

MAG Tuned Engines have introduced their new Crono 211 R 3.5cc nitro engine. The on-road competition power plant makes use of an exclusive crankcase created specifically to MAG Tuned Engines’ specifications, and the piston is special tuned and received a special surface treatment that reduces the friction and increases the performances. Also the liner was modified following MAG’s specification, while the crankshaft is hand-tuned and the timing has been revised according to the new engines specifications. To round out the package, the conrod is double surface treated to ensure increased hardness and less friction. Also new for the Crono is a lower and lighter cooling head.

Made for all crawler enthusiast are the Ruddog Crawler 540-class brushed motors. Available in 5-slot and 3-slot specification and in a total of six different winding variants, the dual ball-raced motors feature adjustable timing, plated end bells, replaceable motor brushes and springs, brush heatsink towers and they are fully rebuildable if needed. The adjustable timing allows to adapt and optimise the motors for drivetrains that require reverse motor rotation operation. The motors are available in 13T, 16T or 20T 5-slot configuration for smoother throttle response and also as 35T, 45T and 55T 3-slot variants for improved overall power.
Made for Mugen’s MBX8T series of nitro and electric truggies is a suspension refresh kit. The set allows racers to refurbish the high stress suspension components and upgrade to the optional carbon fibre arm stiffeners with a single part number. The M1016 MBX8T/E Truggy Refresh Kit includes E2146 inline front uprights, E2161 lower front arms, E2164 upper front arms, E2162 lower rear arms, E2166 optional carbon fibre front arm stiffeners, and E2167 optional carbon fibre rear arm stiffeners.

Round 4 of the Swiss Indoor Championship was hosted by the Mini Racing Chiasso club this past weekend. The event was held in a total of seven electric on-road classes and in Touring Modified it was Awesomatix driver, Michele Manzo with the overall TQ after winning three of the four qualifying rounds. The triple A-mains again saw Michele leading the way and with wins in all legs he took the overall from Antonino Mangiaracina (Awesomatix) in 2nd while Philipp Huber came in 3rd from best-of-the-rest, Khounmy Bui in 4th.

The TMK Raceway of Tomelilla, Sweden held their Open Club Championship this past weekend in 2WD and 4WD Buggy classes. The control tyre was a 45 shore foam for the front and a 35 foam for the rear, a setup that gained some popularity lately as it makes for fun and competitive racing on EOS carpet that already took some beating. The qualifying in both classes was lead by HB Racing’s Hampus Berg and the young man also lead the opening 2WD A-main until he hit a curb, 2-wheeled and flipped his buggy, putting him dead last. Ultimately he was able to recover to 2nd again following one of his best drives ever witnessed. A2 and A3 then were business as usual as Hampus lead the way to take the win in 2WD from Victor Gunnarsson (HB Racing) in 2nd and Oscar Berg (HB Racing), Hampus’ little brother, in 3rd. Over in 4WD Hampus took wins in A1 and A2 for an early overall from Joel Rosengren (Team Associated) in 2nd and Peter Blomgren (Xray) in 3rd.
Coming from Rêve D is their new high-grade carbon fibre effect wrap. The super real carbon fibre resembling wrap not only looks like real carbon fibre but it also offers a certain texture to further add to the appearance. Printed on a very flexible material the wrap is easily applied even on curved surfaces with additional flexibility available using a hairdryer to pre-warm the sticker. The wrap is ideally used on wings, body panels and mirrors of drift cars but also comes in handy to wrap transponders, receiver and servo cases to make for that ultra-stealthy appearance. Serpent have announced the release of their new SRX8GT clutch set. Using knowledge learnt from their heritage in 1/8th IC Track racing, a single adjustable centre spring eliminates the need for having multiple styles of springs in different specifications at hand, whilst ensuring great durability and reliability. In addition and to change the engagement point, simply add or reduce the pre-tension using the adjusting nut. Included in the kit is an ultra lightweight vented aluminium clutch bell including quality NSK bearings.
