The 2019 Mon-Tech NYGP was held at 360v2 RC in New Rochelle, New York last weekend. The event saw Ronald Völker (Yokomo) walking away with the win in Touring Modified while Awesomatix’s Max Mächler TQed and won the TC Stock CanAm A-main, leaving behind Awesomatix’s Bill Sydor in 2nd and Yokomo’s Phil Matthews in 3rd.

Round 1 of the DieHard RC Indoor Off-Road Series was held in Snohomish, Washington last weekend, attracting nearly 160 entries that made for some competitive racing. In 2WD Mod Buggy it was Jeff Jenkins Jr. with the overall TQ after the double qualifiers, however in the single 6-minute A-main event it was Mikey Brown, coming from P5 on the grid, who would hold the upper hand to bring home the silverware some 2.9 seconds in front of Jeff. Tyler Wilbur would come in 3rd to round out the podium result in front of Travis Harker in 4th.

The 15th annual Novarossi Trophy was held at the Automodellistico 5 Colli track in Gubbio, Italy last weekend. The event saw the running of 1/8th IC Track and 1/10th 200mm Nitro Touring classes and in the 1/8th scale class it was Jonathan Gandin with the overall TQ, some 2.2 seconds in front of Dante Piersante. The 30-minute A-main final then had Robert De Cesare (Mugen) holding the upper hand as he took the win some four laps in front of Shepherd’s Mattia Collavo as Xray’s Alessandro Bracci came in 3rd to round out the podium result.

After a successful and well backed series in 2018/19, the EssexCarpetClash returned last weekend for their second season located in the south of England. The opening meeting was fully booked with both 4 and 2 wheel-drive classes, 2 wheel-drive being the more popular. Having completed all rounds of qualifying, top dog in 4WD was Stephen Brown who had a perfect qualifier taking all four rounds, showing that he was going to be difficult to beat come the finals. John Painter lined up 2nd on the grid, with Mark Lewis, a top runner from last year in 3rd.

1up Racing have introduced a new 6S LiPo battery for their popular Pro Pit Iron. The increased power of the 6S pack offers fastest ever heat up and recovery tomes and enough capacity to power the iron at full temp for over two hours. The 1000mAh softcase pack measures a super compact 70x34x32mm and it comes pre-soldered with an XT60 power plug and and industry-standard balancer connector.
Coming from JConcepts’ RM2 brand are the black Clover 1/8th scale wing buttons. In the 1/8th off-road world a securely fastened wing is critical during qualifiers, main events and those all-important long practice sessions. RM2 has a new option available for 1/8th buggy racers that like to do a little more beating and banging on the track. When IFMAR World Champion Ryan Maifield was asked about what detail he is looking for in a wing button, he simply stated, it must be durable, and the flange needs to be large. The JConcepts designers went to work utilising some unique “Clover” styling along with the large flange Ryan asked for. The all-aluminium wing button specifically for the screw-in type wing mounts provide additional stability against landings and hard crashes because the large flange spreads out the force. The machined aluminium design with the stealthy black colour durable outer rim and stylish “Clover” design offers a bit more security over traditional plastic and aluminium wing buttons. The design is lightweight but also durable in the correct areas adding to the benefits to the racer. The attachment area has an already built-in countersunk feature which allows for the cleanest assembly possible.
Coming from WRC Racing and made for their NTX 1/10th scale nitro touring car are new hardened 7075 aluminium pinion gears. Machined from high-quality material and sporting a reinforced design the pinions also feature a hardened surface for longer life and higher performance. The gears are available in 14T and 15T sizes.

Following a couple of teaser images on social media Bittydesign have finally unveiled their all-new Hyper touring car body shell for 190mm chassis. Of an ultra high downforce and low centre of gravity design the body adds another radical shell to the current breed of aggressive TC body designs with the Hyper offering a large front splitter, a crushed and lowered bonnet, pronounced roof and a tapered rear end, combined with a new-design rear end that adds a bit of scale realism to the body. Aerodynamic elements taken over from high downforce 1/10th 200mm nitro touring car bodies add to the overall design and ensure exceptional performance in modified and stock classes alike. Designed to meet the requirements of all of the important sanctioning bodies the Hyper lid is available in lightweight and ultra lightweight variants and it includes window masks, decals and lightweight wing mounting hardware.
