Kyosho MP10T 1/8th nitro truggy kit – Coming soon

Kyosho have revealed first images and information on their forthcoming new MP10T 1/8th scale nitro truggy kit that will hit stores by the end of August. The main chassis is a 3mm 7075 aluminium plate with hard anodising and improved flex characteristics. Engine/fuel tank, servos, RX box and battery box have move forward for optimal weight balance. The MP10 radio plate design features a revised servo position and increased strength with 3.0mm thickness, increased from 2.5mm while side guards – by reducing thickness and height – are a lot lighter than the previous parts while and looking sharp as they narrow from the centre of the chassis towards the rear. Also included is a new updated fuel tank design for more durability and reliability while the new engine mount increases rigidity for a more balanced flex and pitch. The trucks new steering plate further improves cornering speed through optimisation of the Ackermann ratio. A new reversible steering plate enables eight different settings to match the specific characteristics of the racing surface and personal preferences. The optimised Ackermann in the MP10T delivers an increase in lock-to-lock steering travel. The design of the new reinforced tie rod ends doesn’t interfere with the inside of the tyre and wheel when steering is at maximum angle.

Nejc Mihelic takes early Austrian 1/8 IC Track title

The third round of the Austrian IC Track Nationals was held at the LAMAC track last weekend. Due to bad weather prediction for Sunday all four qualifying rounds would be held on Saturday. Right from the start it was Nejc Mihelic who set the pace and with all four rounds completed it was still Nejc on top followed by Herfried Pucher and Michael Holler. On Sunday the rain arrived as expected and just when the main finals started. So the organisers had to call the race a day and by taking the qualifying results to determine the winner it was Nejc with the win from Herfried and Michael. With the win Mihelic already took the overall championship title thanks to scoring three wins in a row and with the season finale still to come in September.

Axon YD-series Revoshock dampers

Axon have introduced their new Revoshock dampers the Yokomo YD-2 and YD-4 drift cars. The big bore shock absorbers utilise 11.5mm diameter 16-hole shock pistons that run in HVF-coated threaded alloy shock bodies for ultra low friction. The clearance between the piston and shock body is only 0.025mm, ensuring minimal oil blow-by and thus predictable shock performance. New to the Revoshock is a revolutionary piston shaft seal design with the lower cartridge seals being a lot smaller in diameter compared to industry-standard P3 O-rings, which ensures the seals are not being pinched by the shock body which created a floating design that leads to virtually no friction between the seals and the shock shaft. Specially selected inner diameters of the upper S and lower SS-sized O-rings ensure the shocks are still as leak-free as possible while the HVF-coated piston shaft further reduce overall friction. The result is a shock absorber that is able to generate more traction due to being as smooth as possible. Included in the set come the shock bodies, upper and lower caps, spring pre-load collar as well as the piston rods and pistons. The plastic parts, pivot balls and shock springs are not included as these are parts that can be taken from the donor Yokomo shocks.
