HPI Ford F-150 Desert Truck body

HPI Mini-Trophy owners can customize their trucks with this clear 2004 Ford F-150 Desert Truck body. It’s a direct bolt-on option body, molded in crystal clear polycarbonate material for those that prefer to have a personal touch with their paint and graphics scheme. It comes with two huge decal sheets that are pre-cut for easy application and the graphics include stripes and officially licensed Ford logos that give it a tough desert truck appearance.

Simon Willetts joins Competition Heat

GB Modelsport has announced that Simon Willetts will be one of its leading drivers using the new Competition Heat 12V engine heater in 2011. Simon used the engine heater for the first time at the CML Winter Series meeting at Frankley Model Car Club, taking TQ by round 2, and then going on to win the A Final with his Orion powered Kyosho. On a bone chilling day, where the ambient temperature struggled to reach 6°C, Simon used the heater to good effect. “The car started first time, every time, all through the day and the engine was pretty much good to go as soon as it fired up” commented Simon.

JConcepts T4.1 Punisher body

The Punisher body by JConcepts for the Associated T4.1 is designed to increase on track performance with its aggressive hood and cab placement for added down force. The bed area is also designed with performance in mind, there are designated areas to cut out to help reduce the dreaded parachute effect and stabilizer fins for added stability on high speed tracks. Paul Wynn and Zach Genova debuted the new body in punishing fashion at the 2010 ROAR Region 4 Championship. Every round of qualifying was TQ’d with the Punisher body as well as taking the top two positions in the A-main.

Axial XR10 crawler upgrades

Axial Racing have released a number of upgrades for their XR10 crawler. Starting with this battery plate, it has been machined from high-grade carbon fibre, is height adjustable and includes all the hardware allowing the battery to be positioned as low as possible. There is also a new electronics plate, which again has been machined from high-grade 3mm carbon fibre. The new plate gives a lightweight mounting platform for your electronics and is 65% lighter than the factory electronics tray. Axial have released the Stage 3 aluminium Hi-Clearance links kit, which is a replacement for the upper and lower links from the XR10. This kit provides additional clearance and performance for the XR10 chassis. For additional tuning options there is a new range of shock springs in black (1.04lbs/in), purple (1.43lbs/in) and orange (1.75lbs/in). Finally for the RTR AX10 and SCX10 there is this steering upgrade kit that replaces the stock plastic steering links increasing steering strength and precision.

Tresrey DEX410 30g weight

Shown in CAD form back in October, Japanese company Tresrey have released this brass weight for the Durango DEX410 and 410R. Weighing in at 30 gram it can be mounted to under the rear gearbox to help improve rear traction and is specifically shaped to fit snugly into the car.

RB 204mm compact manifold

As mentioned in our World Championship coverage, RB have designed and developed a special compact 204mm manifold for increased bottom end power. Designed for ‘American style’ tracks with big jumps, this manifold claims to be a big advantage in term of power. Also available in 192mm and 198mm versions, it is polished both inside and out and supplied with exhaust gasket and springs.
