BRCA 1/8 Circuit Nationals Rd5 – Report

BRCA 1/8 Nationals moved to the Adur track for round 5 of the series recently. Things started well with a nice blue sky on Saturday morning but phones were quickly out to check if rain was on the way. Unfortunately it was and everyone tried to make the best of the morning to find a good setup before things got wet. There was some drizzle in the air from lunchtime and it started raining from 3h30. No cars were to hit the track from that point. Sunday morning was dry for drivers’ briefing. Tim Wood, current championship leader, and Andy Hastings were absent, meaning their usual spot in the A was up for grabs. Practice started at 9am and drivers were eager to get going. There were 7 cars in electric and 23 in nitro, all making the most of the dry conditions as it was clear that it would quickly change. And it did. The rain started just before 10. Out with the phones again.

JConcepts 1999 Ford F-150 Lightning body shell

JConcepts have announced the release of their 1999 Ford SVT F-150 Lightning for Street Eliminator drag racing. The SVT F-150 Lightning body is built low and excels when converted to a JConcepts Street Eliminator concept. The high-speed shell features a very scale look, and with the addition of a rear spoiler, helps the F-150 speed in the correct direction. Exterior elements that distinguish the Lightning from the regular F-150 include new upper and lower front grilles with a horizontal design that is unique to the Lightning in the F-Series line. The headlights, taillights, side-marker lights, and the signature round fog lights all match the 1:1 counterpart found only on the Lightning, which give the exterior a clean, jewel-like appearance. The cab’s center high-mounted stop lamp also is unique to the Lightning, and is created with a simple detailed decal. The body comes clear, made of heavy-duty polycarbonate with protective film and it includes window masks and detailed Ford decals.
