Serpent SRX8-GT – Coming soon

Serpent have announced the soon release of their all-new SRX8-GT 1/8th nitro GT kit. The car shares many high performance parts from the successful SRX8 platform and in addition to the details carried over from the SRX8 platform, Serpent have introduced many new, design concepts to push the kit well into the future as well as set itself apart from all competition. Full details will become in time for the release.

Frederik Hovgaard wins at Danish EP On-road Nats Rd7

Round 7 of the Danish Electric On-road Nationals was held at the Randers track last weekend. Yokomo’s Frederik Hovgaard was pretty much in control of things in the Touring Modified class, taking three round TQ for the overall TQ and pole position for the triple A-mains, leaving behind Patrick Hornum in 2nd. The finals then were a forth and back between Frederik Hovgaard and Michael Hovgaard (Xray), with the letter securing the win in A2 and shifting the decision for the overall to the third and final A-main. Ultimately it was Frederik with the win and the overall from Michael in 2nd and Patrick rounding out the top 3 result.

Phat Bodies 300R MTC 210mm wheelbase body shell

Phat Bodies have released their new 300R 210mm wheelbase body shell for the growing MTC mini touring car class. High clearance speed bumps on the bonnet help the sleek body sit super low on any chassis and it is made of 0.75mm Lexan polycarbonate material, comes including a high-downforce rear wing, window masks and overspray film as well as stickers and it fits a range of M-type cars such as the Xpress XM1S.

Willspeed RF2 XB2 conversion kit

Willspeed have introduced their new RF2 chassis and gearbox conversion kit for the popular Xray XB2 2WD buggy. The conversion platform was designed and manufactured by engineers and racers alike to further up the performance of the car. The kit features an aircraft grade billet aluminium tub style chassis for a lightweight, low COG and strong platform with a single-piece no-tweak design. The chassis comes individually serial numbered with name engraving available. The ultra low profile aircraft grade aluminium 5-gear transmission housing ensures optimised weight distribution with lowered idlers, lowered layshaft and unique no tower “A” frame design, hugely lowering COG. Other aircraft grade billet aluminium parts include the motor mount with low COG design, and the rear shock tower with internal undercut keyway which interlocks with transmission housing for super solid tower mounting. Pocketed features key shock standoffs and turnbuckle locknuts for quick easy tuning. The ultra lightweight platform weighs in race ready with full size shorty LiPo, full size servo and Schumacher tires at approximately 1495g. Included with the conversion comes the Willspeed RF2 Falcon bodyshell.

Daniel Pariente wins Madrid E-Buggy regional Rd2

The second round of the Madrid E-Buggy regionals was held at the Circuito Serracines track this past weekend. Young Daniel Pariente was in control of things all weekend, taking the TQ and also the overall win to leave Miguel Izquierdo and Jose Vidal behind in 2nd and 3rd respectively. Runner-up after the qualifiers, Felix Zamorano had to settle for 4th overall, leading the best of the rest.

Davide Ongaro wins on home soil

The OngaroRing held their season opener race at their outdoor track in Sacile this past weekend. In the 1/8th Nitro Buggy F1 category it was Team Associated/LRP’s Davide Ongaro with the overall win from Kyosho/Novarossi’s Mattia Polito on the 2 spot. Mugen’s Marco Ravaglia would put his VSEngine powers ride on the 3 spot overall.

Kyosho roll out new MP10 optionals

Coming from Kyosho are new balance weight and anti-roll bar options for the Inferno MP10 buggy. First seen back in March and available soon are front and rear balance weights in 10g and 20g variants. The weights are designed to be placed close to the front and rear gearboxes and their stackable design allow to add up to 30g per position. The weights come marked for easy identification and they include mounting hardware. Also new are front and rear anti-roll bar wires in 2.9mm specification.

Lamberto Collari wins at Italian ACI Champs Rd1

The Automodellistico 5 Colli club in Gubbio, Italy played host to round 1 of the Italian ACI Nitro On-road Championships this past weekend. Held in 1/8th and 1/10th classes the 1/8th A category, sporting the fastest national drivers, saw Infinity’s Lamberto Collari taking the overall TQ from Capricorn’s Mirko Salemi and Lamberto would also snatch the overall win in the 45-minute main final, leaving behind ARC’s Jonathan Gandin in 2nd and Alberto Picco in 3rd.
