BRCA eBuggy & Nitro Truck Nats 3 – Report

The third round of the BRCA eBuggy and Nitro Truck National Championship was held at JC Raceway this past weekend. In the eBuggy class and after a TQ in qualifying, Jonathan Skidmore took home top step of the podium. Darren Bloomfield took second after a really nice race with his team mate leaving competition for championship tight between them, with two rounds left, as Mitchell Booth completed the top 3.

EFRA Electric Track European Champs – Report

The 2018 EFRA 1/10th scale Electric Track European Championships were held at the MRC Wiener Neustadt track this past weekend. The event started off wet but things got better over the weekend. In the Touring Modified Ronald Volker headed the field round from pole position in the first leg and in a great display of controlled driving soaked up all the pressure from a charging Alexander Hagberg to take a step towards retaining his title. Bruno Coelho had a quiet race by his standards to finish a couple of seconds behind the lead two.

Grainer & Hönigl win at Austrian EP Buggy Nats Rd3

Round 3 of the Austrian 1/10th Electric Off-road Nationals was held at the TSA-Krieglach track this past weekend. This race was the second one on a dirt surface this year and it was challenging all drivers a lot. The track started with good grip but it was getting slipperier from run to run. Lucas Grainer (Yomoko) dominated the 2WD qualifying and took the TQ ahead of Xray’s Hupo Hönigl. The first and third A-main final then went to Lucas Grainer, as Hupo came out fastest in A2. Overall it was Lucas with the win from Hupo 2nd and Team Associated’s Martin Kreil in 3rd.

Carmine Raiola wins at AMSCI Champs Rd1

The opening round of the Italian AMSCI 1/8th On-road National Championship was held this past weekend at the iconic Fiorano track and in 1/8th Nitro Expert it was Infinity’s Carmine Raiola with the win in the 45-minute main final. Carmine brought home the win some two seconds in front of Infinity’s Lamberto Collari as WRC’s Mirko Salemi rounded out the top 3 results.

Czech 1/8th Off-road Nationals Rd3 – Report

The third round of the Czech 1/8th Off-road Nationals took place last weekend in Dolni Bukovsko. The race kicked off on Friday with the usual free practice, but the track was still wet after rain the night before and only a few drivers decided to put their cars on the track, but then had tons of work to get them ready for the race. The 1/8th Nitro Buggy class saw Max Götzl taking the overall TQ with wins in Q2 and Q3 as Kaja Novotny came out fastest in the opening qualifier and he would also take the pole position for the main final after the semis.

Yeah Racing T3-01 rear carbon fibre sway arm

Coming from Yeah Racing and made for Tamiya’s popular T3-01 Dancing Rider trike is a 3mm carbon fibre sway arm. The graphite flipper piece is secured with screws and will not pop out as easily as the stock part while adding a bit of visual impact to the otherwise plastic-ish vehicle. The arm is machined from 3mm carbon fibre and it is a direct fit.

T-Works MP9 metal diff internals

T-Works have introduced a set of specially coated metal gear internals for the MP9 TKI4 and TKI3 differentials. Each set contains six gears as well as pins and shims and using the parts will reduce overall wear while offering a smoother diff action thanks to the gear’s slick surface coating. One set contains parts for one differential meaning it need three sets to equip a full kit.

Hofer & Widmer take Swiss 1/8th Buggy Champs Rd4

Last weekend saw the running of round 4 of the Swiss 1/8th off-road nationals. The demanding track of Gland made racing challenging and in the end it was experienced Patrick Hofer with the TQ in the 1/8th Expert Buggy class as Fabian Widmer TQ’s the Amateur category. After the Expert class semifinals it was again Patrick who hold the upper hand and he would start from pole into the A-main. For the first 20 minutes of the main, Jean-Marc Betticher was able to stay in Patrick’s slipstream, however soon after the had to let him go meaning Patrick would be able to score a comfortable 30+ seconds win from JMB 2nd and Valentin Bader 3rd.
