Burak Kilic crowned German Nitro Truck champion

The Meiningen track in Germany played host to the 2018 German 1/8th Truggy championships this past weekend. Practice started on Friday and it became instantly clear that the race would be a tough one as the gruelling track was in a hard-packed and rutted condition. Right from the get go the Kilic brothers showed an impressive speed and the two would also obtain the front row of the grid going into the 40-minute A-main event. In the end the two would also make up the top steps of the podium with Burak taking the 2018 Nitro Truggy championship title from Berkan with the vice-championship title. In 3rd, Johannes Klett would round out the podium.

Thanks to Abdullah Kilic for the report.

Simon Kurzbuch strikes at Swiss Championships Rd3

This past weekend the MRCL Langenthal invited to the third round of Swiss IC Track Championships. The resurfaced track was completed only three weeks ago and the club took the opportunity to celebrate its reopening. In addition to a perfectly organised race, there was also a supporting program with BBQ, fireworks, public-viewing, music and cold drinks. In the 1/8th class the pole position went to Silvio Hächler after a close fight. In the Superpole race, Simon repeated his masterpiece from last weekend, setting the new best time in the very first lap and thus secured his direct starting position in the final. After Silvio had a bad start into the main race, Simon was able to take over the lead before the first corner which he was able to extend to a gap of three seconds. Unfortunately Silvio had to retire the race in the 52nd lap due to an engine failure. Simon Kurzbuch (Shepherd), now without pressure, finished the race confidently and won the 3rd round of the Swiss Championship ahead of the Xray duo of Mattia Pesenti and Luca Martinelli, who crossed the finish line only four seconds apart.
