The Italian TLR Cup was held at the RC Landia facility in Scandiano, Italy this past weekend. In the 2WD class Davide Ongaro (Team Associated) and Giuseppe Fermi (Xray) battled for the overall TQ with the better end for Davide who would snatch the pole position for the triple A-mains in the end. Over in 4WD it was again Davide with the TQ, this time from Tekno RC’s Alex Zanchettin.

Coming from ARC is the R8.1 2018 1/8th nitro on-road kit. The ’18 variant sports a couple of changes such as an updated front bulkhead that incorporates a belt tensioner to adjust the belt tension between the front bulkhead and middle layshaft for improved efficiency. Also new are several tuning parts that were optionals previously such as aluminium front downstop arms, 2.4mm and 2.6mm front as well as 2.6mm and 2.8mm rear anti-roll bar wires and also different-size 1st and 2nd gear spur gears. The package is rounded out by new shock springs and an X-hard clutch spring.
PSM from Germany have introduced a carbon fibre front upper deck for the Team Associated B64 buggy. This front upper deck was designed to reinforce the vehicles front end and will provide more traction along with smoother overall cornering. It comes with a flex-limiter system that can be used as an additional option to limit the torsion for advanced flex control.
Yeah Racing have introduced an aluminium gearbox protector for the Tamiya CC01 chassis. The part is machined from high-quality alloy, it comes blue anodised for looks and wear and attached directly to the lower side of the chassis. A machined chamfered edge adds visual impact to the part that makes for improved transmission protection and precision.

The Pan American race was held at Homestead RC Raceway in Florida this past weekend and in the 1/8th GT class it was Joaquin Desoto Jr. with the overall TQ, and the only 22-laps run in qualifying, from Lazaro Alonso and Paolo Morganti. In the hour-long A-main it was again Joaquin who prevailed as the took the win some two laps in front of Rino Lino with Fernando Mendez coming in 3rd to round out the podium. Elsewhere in the supporting 1/10th 200mm Nitro Sedan class it was DJ Apolaro with the TQ and DJ would also take the 1-hour A-main with a three laps margin from Paolo Morganti in 2nd and Joaquin Desoto Jr. in 3rd.
T-Works have announced the signing of Sweden’s David Ronnefalk to their factory team. The 2016 IFMAR 1/8th Buggy World Champion will be using T-Works accessories in all of his HB Racing vehicles and he has the following to say about the deal:
I’m very happy to be representing T-Works for 2018 and beyond. As I didn’t make any official announcement during 2017 it was time to do so now. The 2018 RC Chili Bowl set record entries of over 437 as it wrapped up a fun and competitive event. Held at the Expo Square Fair Grounds and ran alongside the famous full-sized Chili Bowl Midget Nationals in Tulsa, Oklahoma, this race is quickly becoming the biggest dirt oval event on the racing calendar. Now in its fourth year under the helm of legendary event Promoter and Announcer Scotty Ernst, the RC Chili Bowl contests electric dirt oval classes that include Short Course Modified, Short Course B Modified, Wingless Sprint, Street Stock, Midwest Modified, Late Model, Masters Outlaw Sprint, and Outlaw Sprint, giving everyone a class or classes to race in to suit every race style and skillset.

New from Awesomatix is the SPR08 body support set that was developed for the use with all Awesomatix cars. The system will keep the body shell from moving with the chassis, meaning the body will always have same height related to the ground for which allows to run the shell in a lower positions without having to fear body rubbing. The result is improved front end grip and a smoother handling under acceleration. A short video of the system in action can be found here.
