BSRC 1/8th buggy air filter foams

Coming from Ben Sterling RC are several new air filter foam sets for a range of 1/8th nitro buggies. Available as natural, un-oiled foams or pre-oiled with a specifically designed bio filter oil, the foams are sold in packs of ten. The bio oil is a very tacky, but very breathable fluid that is biodegradable and non-toxic while still being fuel and water-proof. The sets are available for the TLR style air filters, the Mugen MBX8 and Kyosho MP9 TKI4.

Gstyle Grand Slam II electric brushless motor

Gstyle from Japan have introduced their new Grand Slam II 540-class electric brushless motor. Developed with power increased and better drivability in mind the motor will offer up to 15 percent more power compared to its predecessor while offering a smoother and better controllable throttle feeling and also improved braking performance for a more connected feeling between driver and vehicle. A new can design with large vent openings keeps the operation temperatures at bay while heavy duty solder tabs ensure easy and reliable soldering. The motor will become available as 3.5T modified and 21.5T Ver.4 JMRCA variants first with more winding options to come.

Alberto Garcia wins at Summer Race

The Summer Race event was hosted by the Spanish Cartt club in Fuencarral this past weekend and it was Alberto Garcia with TQ and the win in the 30-minute Nitro Buggy main final. Ivan Ramirez came in 2nd some three laps down as Pablo Izquierdo completed the top 3 results.

Xpress Execute XQ1 steering Ackermann plates

Coming from Xpress and made for the Execute XQ1 and XQ1S touring car are new optional steering Ackermann plates. Machined from high-quality carbon fibre the plates are available in the three different options stock, 1 dot and 2 dot with the latter two reducing the steering Ackermann effect to adjust the steering feeling to different traction levels. The 1 and 2 dot plates come as a complete set and they are best used in high-grip conditions as they provide improved stability on turn-in and during cornering. In addition the standard geometry arms are available in a special option version that provides improved overall rigidity for a sharper steering response. The Ackermann plates require the use of 2mm bumpsteer spacers in order to recreate the standard steering geometry.

Czech 1/10th Off-road Nationals Rd3 – Report

The third round of the Czech 1/10th Off-road Nationals took place last weekend at the Rychvald astro turf track in the Czech Republic. After races on carpet and dirt this was the third different track surface for the championship so far. Friday’s free practice would be held in good weather conditions but overnight rain would flood the track on Saturday morning and many racers thought the race would be cancelled. However most drivers voted to carry on with racing and the local club did a great job in preparing the track to be at least possible to drive on. In the 2WD class Kaja Novotny used his spare dirt spec buggy which was the jackpot as he was able to lap almost the whole field in each qualifying run.

Yannick Aigoin wins French 1/8 Buggy Nats Rd4

The MACSQ track in Saint-Quentin, France played host to round 4 of this year’s French 1/8th Nitro Off-road Nationals. After the qualifiers it was Xray’s Yannick Aigoin with the TQ and it was also Yannick who grabbed the pole position for the main final after coming out fastest in the semifinals. In the 45-minute main final a fierce battle for the overall was on between Yannick and his brother Jerome while TLR’s Renaud Savoya was also in the mix. In the end Yannick would hold the upper hand to take home the win in front of Jerome Aigoin (Xray) as Renaud had to settle for 3rd overall.

Wollanka & Hubert win at Austrian Nitro Buggy Nats Rd2

The second round of Austrian 1/8 Nitro Off-road Nationals was held at the A-Team Graz club this past weekend. Martin Wollanka (SWorkz/Picco/TPro) took the TQ and win in front of Dominic Bauer (Mugen/Novarossi/Pro-Line) and Jürgen Trieb (SWorkz/SPower/TPro). Martin now also leads the championship after winning the opening two races. In the 40+ category local driver Christian Hubert (SWorkz/Reds Racing/TPro) walked away with the win as Georg Horninger(SWorkz/MW Picco/TPro) and Heinz Müller (SWorkz/MW Picco/TPro) completed a clean SWorkz/TPro podium.

Grainer doubles at Slovakian 1/10 Buggy Nats Rd2

The second round of the Slovakian 1/10 Off-road Nationals was held at the totally rebuild RC-Comorra race track in Kamorno. The track now offers a very entertaining layout with some tight passages and corner but also some fast passages while the surface was slippery as you can expect to it from a dirt track. In 2WD Buggy Yokomo’s Lucas Grainer could take the TQ and he was leading in the finals to take the day’s win from Roman Pavlus and Michal Nagy (Xray).
